Hi Gang,
Sorry if this has been asked before.
I live in an area that is known for having very dirty power. I would like to buy a UPS type unit with automatic voltage regulation to compensate for the surge and sags. Most UPS systems are designed for computers and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on this subject pertaining to stereo or home theater. From what I gather there are at least two kinds of UPS configurations. One simply has a battery backup to correct for under voltage and surge protection for the peaks. Another method is to run the "inverter" off the battery at all times. That way the incoming simply charges the battery. I think this is referred to as "double conversion". I could be wrong on that. My question is this. Is there a place on the WEB that discusses backup power, UPS or line conditioning for home theater? I'd also be interested in finding out more information regarding "modified sine wave" or "true sine wave" methods.

Thanks in advance
-Tom

Look in Tech Questions under "I've got a crackle". I think there is a reference to UPS type units, that may help.
