Anybody got any thoughts or comments they'd like to share? I'm sure Amie, et. al. would be interested in what you think.

I've done a good amount of web design over the years, so while I have no formal training or real authority on the matter, I do have strong preferences
I've liked Axiomaudio.com's straightforward header and footer and I'm glad they haven't changed. They are clean and simple and should stay that way.
I like the new, lighter shade of blue. It feels fresher. I would make the link text color lighter to match, though.
I'm not, however, a fan of the drop-shadows on the text within the light blue. I really just don't like drop-shadowed text in general.
I also feel like the "Learn All About Sound" section on the front page should be part of the Axiom Audiofile section, since it is really just the Axiom Audiofile archives. The front page just seems too cluttered with too little emphasis placed on the products/store.
That being said, I still like Axiomaudio.com far more than I dislike it. I realize that Axiom is a speaker company, not a web design company.

the site doesnt have all the flash and artwork of most sites, and i like that. sometimes i think companies that fancy up their websites, are not focusing on their products. almost like thay are trying to shift my attention. i feel, if you have a good, solid product, then you dont need over the top eye candy to sell it..
plus, the low graphics makes it much easier to 'hide' while trying to post while at work.. i know i aint the only one, so dont you even be lookin at me like that!!

Like the new homepage. Good concept to emphasize the positive reviews Axiom continually receives as that's what it's all about.

What Furrer,
It shouldn't matter what browser/OS you use since the drop shadows are on text within images such as this one:

Those I saw...and immediately overlooked / dismissed.
I was thinking that he meant something like the "ClearType" option in XP...
Any text I use in an image usually has a drop shadow...to make it more easily read.

I dig on the new set-up. But agree that it might focus too much on helping me with home theater and audio advice, and not enough on the products. Also, I can't seem to get to the factory outlet without going to the site map (but I just might be overlooking this link somewhere).
Who knows, though. These days, I troll the internet looking for Home theater advice all the time. Its amazing how often I end up at manufacturer's sites because they espouse some tips on HT. Maybe by including tips on the home page, the website will get more clicks, more views, etc. Then, after they've read the informed content, maybe they'll check out the products and the message boards.
All in all, I dig the new look. Well done, Amie et al.

I also can't see a link to the factory outlet.
One thing I've wondered also... I would assume that Axiom has made at least one of each of the custom finish speakers. In the custom finish section I would think it would be nice if after you clicked on a finish, you saw that finish on an actual speaker. Instead of just a close-up of the finish. But that's just my .02.

I second that! More pictures of more finishes!
In fact, how about a page that allows the user to view a finish/grill combo.
I realize it ultimately doesn't help you make the final decision (you still often need to see the sample) but it would allow you to eliminate many obviously "undesirable" combinations.

The Factory Outlet is 2 clicks away from the main page. First click the Store link in the page header. On the Store page, click the Factory Outlet link located in the blue border directly below Cables and Interconnects.

I like any page that:
1. Is clean looking
2. Does not use Flash
Anyone else notice the very techy looking banana plugs? I wonder if I could use them as cuff links .....wait t-shirts don't have cuffs.
All in all a good looking page, I'd just like to see a little more blue above the text in "The Axiom Store" etc.

As I stated to Amie, as a Canadian company I think that the web page should be available in French also, all across Canada, be it in Vancouver, or Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, or New Brunswick, there is quite a big French community and it only seems obvious that that it should be bilingual.
Please do not turn this reply into a language debate

Nice clean page. Nice when it updates. BTW - where is that award winning slogan?

It's an improvement. Now I won't say I like gaudy, but I do think they should have gone one more step towards more sophisticated. IMO

Actually, I threatened our programmer this morning that I would start giving out his home number . . . tee hee! The site has been translated for several months, but reprogramming in different languages has caused some major hiccups. Hopefully we'll have it up soon!

An other thing I noticed, is that when looking for a newsletter, they are not sorted out by date, rather by title, makes it hard to find a certain month newsletter,
perhaps you can make the best of both worlds...
