I'm looking at purchasing a bookshelf speaker, for a music only system. My current floorstanders are not working out in my new room since I do not have enough space behind or between them. Well, that statement is not 100% accurate, I could get plenty of space behind them... but that's a different story (WAF). I've read many posts that indicate the 60s sound very similar to the 700 series. Can one be so bold as to interpolate that the M3ti sounds very similar to the 705? I listened to the 705 at my local dealer, and they are a superb little speaker (very similar to the much more expensive Nautilus 805), but at $2,200 per pair it's difficult to justify the purchase when I have 3 other pairs of speakers in the basement collecting dust. I will be using a Cayin TA30 (great little amp) to drive the speakers.

The M22ti is the little brother to the M60ti. The M3ti is a bit smoother, more laid back sounding.

el_giovato,
I have a Cayin TA-30 tube amp and it sounds fantastic with my M3ti. These speakers don't need a sub to put out all around fantastic sound. If get the M22ti I would suggest using a sub and i'm sure most all would suggest the same.

I have the M3's

I've heard the M22's

IMO it comes down to personal taste, because those two speakers are very nice. If you like the laid back warmer sound go M3, if ya like the sound more up front, possible better detail in the upper midrange go M22.

Regaurdless of what you've heard, unless you are one that doesn't much care about bass, neither of these have enough (for me) by themselves. That said, sometimes when I am in the mood I do like to listen to the M3's by themselves, otherwise always with the sub on.
