I am debating on what I should get for my front speakers, can someone help me out. This system will be 80% HT and 20% music. Thanks!

I prefer the M22Ti's. They also play slightly louder than the M40's. This, of course, is assuming you are purchasing a subwoofer. If you are not, you might want the M40's for the slightly more extended bass response.

Thanks! I'm going with an SVS PCI sub,, most likely the smaller one.

Red, since you'll be going with a good sub, the M22s should be the pick. Incidentally, if you're getting the 25-31, I'd suggest having Tom at SVS tune it to 22hz(no extra charge).

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Both the M22 and M40 are great buys, depending on musical tastes. If you are really into pop recordings, the laid-back sound of the M40 will actually be a plus rather than a shortcoming of the speaker. Technically, tonal matching on movie effects will be better with the M22, but this is really a minute issue outside of a professional review.

If I could risk opening up ye olde can of worms about bothering with 6.1, why not upgrade the choice of QS4s in the back to a single pair of QS8s, then see if you feel the need to bother with surround backs?

I second fhw on getting one pair of QS8's in the back. It would sound better than three QS4's. If you need to upgrade in the future, buy a third QS8.

Cool, I have debated getting 2 QS8's rather than 3 QS 4's and think this seems to be the best option. Thanks for everyone's input, it has been very helpful!

I know I'm probably opeing a can of worms on this but what is better for my situation; (80% HT and 20% music) M22ti's or M60's? I know there is a huge price difference but I want to make sure I buy the right speaker the first time around. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Well here is what I have, M60s up front and M22s as rears. It works for me. I tried the QS8s, they sounded great and did exactley what they were intended to do. It's just that I prefer direct radiation vs surround, to me this arrangment has greater impact on the listener. All in all it comes down to your listening prefrences. Both the M60s and M22s are great speakers but my advice would be to do the right thing the first time around and pick up the M60s. You will not regret it. By the way, you might want to do a search for a comparision on M22s vs QS8s as surrounds by Cheeseroo, it is a good read and very informative. Always keep in mind that you have 30 days to audition the speakers.
