When I use the Avia disc to calibrate my sub and mains, the mains(M22ti's) are putting out more bass when the tone cyles to just the sub!. I have turned the gain on the sub right off to check and still the M22ti still is making bass when it's the sub's turn? I don't want to calibrate with the mains off, cause the sound will be way off when all the speakers are running when watching a movie. How can I accurately calibrate my sub without the other speakers "butting"in? My receiver is set at THX-"YES", which automatically(supposed)to x-over at 80hz,x-over on sub is "disabled"(SVS-20-39PC+), mains automatically set to "small" at the THX setting.Maybe the x-over in my receiver is garbage, allowing the M22ti's to play when it's not their turn?.The M22ti's should not put out much bass at 40hz... and I think the subwoofer tone is around 80hz?
Thanks for the help,Huck

I don't know if this will help, but this is how I calibrate my system when using a calibration disc as opposed to the receiver's internal test tones. This link is to the home SMR home page. You'll have to scroll down to "Sub-Woofer placement and calibration".

Keith, as I said in the other thread, I don't use AVIA and someone who does might have more specific advice. Reading the AVIA material seems to indicate that what you're describing is the way that they've designed it. Apparently when the sub is being calibrated the sound is also sent to one of the other speakers(although not simultaneously)so that the sub can be balanced against that speaker. I'd think that the AVIA disc would explain the calibration procedure.
