Hi,

Just recieved my SS24 stands to go along with my M2i's. Although its a nice looking stand, I do have one beef with it with the M2i's. The plate where the speaker sits on top of is bigger than the M2i. Although the size is fine at the front, at the rear (due to the wedge shape, we all know and love) the plate sticks out from the sides of the speaker. Due to this, I think it kind of ruins the asthetics of the speakers/stand combo. The website says this stand is designed for the M3i and M2i, and I'm sure its ok for the M3i's.

Just my 2cents.

The alternative would be too small for the M3ti, no?

True....perhaps the base plate of the stands should be in the same wedge design as the speakers (ie: slightly tapered at back), that would probally work for both the M3 and M2's.

Hi Amer,
If you can find an Atlantis dealer in the Calgary area, they have a model called the SBF28 which is ideal for the M2i in a rear channel situation. The top plate is 6" by 6" and the 28" height may be an asset for the effects channel.

I'm considering 5 maybe 6 M2i's for my HT setup with a sub. And was wondering how you liked your M2i's so far? Is it as clear and neutral and is the imaging 3D like in the reviews? Can you crank them to "acceptable" levels for a mid-size room? I want inexpensive but accurate, and I think the M2i fits that bill as best as I can for under $1000.00.

I checked the dimensions before I ordered the stands and found this a problem too. I called Axiom and they told me that I would have to cut the top plate in order to make the stands fit. I didn't like this option so I went with Plateau's TSAT52. This is a all metal telescopic that looks in my opinion much more audiophile than the half wood stuff. Plus, you can adjust the height to match your TV and center speaker.

I have 4 M2i's and a VP100 and a SVS subwoofer. The system sounds impressive for the money esp Home theatre. I have mid size room and they are more than adequate. The speakers are clear, accurate and don't take up much space which is why I went with the M2's. However, I do second guess myself at not getting at least one pair of M22i's. I think they would have given a more fuller sound when playing music but the drawback would have been the size and timber of the system. Make sure you get a good sub!

I am using my M2i's as surrounds for HT setup, with M50's as the mains, and a VP100 centre. Based my decision on some advice from Marc at the AUdioshop, as Marc thought the M2i's are a better match with the M50's than M3's. From my casual listening, I think the M2's would make a good HT set-up all by themselves as long as your room isn't to big. Hmmmm......wonder if I could use 6 Mzero's as a HT setup for the bedroom......neat idea!

Where did you get the Plateau's from? Online or a local audioshop?

Perhaps I might have to cut the sides of the plate to fit the speakers better and improve the asthetics.

Got them from the AudioShop in Ottawa. Also if your looking for a great audio stand check out Plateau's DS series. It looks fabulous and it is extremely well made. For the price it beats out any home furnishing stuff by a long shot.
