I'm just about convinced to jump on the Axiom's but I have one last question. I currently have the Paradigm Monitor series V.3 M5, 370 and MM. I'm torn between the Studios 20 and cc470 setup or the Axiom M60, VP150 and QS8. My concern is between the center channels. Is the VP150 going to match the clarity, and imaging of the CC470? My current receiver is a HK525,the sub is a HSU VTF-2 and the room is roughly 12x20*7.5. Thanks

I can't really answer your question because I have no experience with the Paradigm. I do have the 150, though.

There is at least one forum member who preferred a Paradigm center to the 150 (GeneticDrift). Hopefully he'll chime in here and explain why.

But, should the 150 prove lacking, you can return it within 30 days for any reason. Though I would understand a reluctance to do so, based on the PITA factor, it's not difficult, and wouldn't cost much. Axiom has a return center in Buffalo, NY. So, it's not like you'd have to return it to Canada.

OMG, your monitors you currently have are better than the axiom route (IMHO only, based on my personal taste) with the exception of the monitor 5's, the m60s will be better than the monitor 5's. There is no question the studio line is way superior to the axiom setup but you may just want to keep what you have and get something like the monitor 11's for your fronts.

Personally I find the Axioms have a better sound than the Paradigms. They are clearler and have better detail, accuracy and soundstage.

Paradigms, in general, sound more flat and bloaty in the bass region to me. that sound appeals to a lot of people because it's not harsh to listen to badly recorded material. however, if you like a lot of well recorded material, Axiom tops Paradigm.

again that is ravi_singh opion only. i dont think anyone on the face of the earth will disagree the paradigm studio line will trounce the axioms hands down in every concieveable catagory.

if you really are curious just try the axioms for 30 days, whats to lose besides shipping costs....

back to your original question("My concern is between the center channels. Is the VP150 going to match the clarity, and imaging of the CC470?")

not even close.

I've heard a pair of Paradigm Reference Studio 100 v3, and must say I was very disapointed. That's supposed to be their top of the line speaker. Personally I prefer my M60's by a long shot.

As you can tell from the answers you've received, it's a personal choice. It depends on your own ears and what you and nobody else likes.

Is there no Axiom owner any where near you that can give you a demo?

I think what you are saying is a matter of opinion. I've listened to the Paradigm Studio line and I personally prefer the Axioms hands down. Now if we were talking RBH or Wilson that would be different

Yet, here is ravi doing just that AND he is on the face of the earth.

The real answer is for you to try and hear the things in person. GeneticDrift hit the nail on the head. We can post replies all day long - your ears will make the final judgment.
