On your question as to whether there's been a change made in the M80, the answer is yes, but it isn't clear when or what. Alan has commented that an old NRC response graph shown in a SoundStage test isn't valid for current production, but he didn't go into detail. I'd guess that the crossover has been modified to lower the level to the tweeters. Note Ian's and Alan's replies here .
