All he needs is the mono male 3.5 to male coax RCA mono. The older SB only has a 3.5 mm female socket which is mono digital out. The socket is BLACK in color. This socket has no analog.
As for your 4 pin 3.5mm...thats not going to work since the socket is digital not analog.
