it's like Christmas eve used to be...excited, can't sleep, looking out the window...
sometime tomorrow, er...later today for you insomniacs in est land...fed x is delivering an EP500 to me.
first sub ever...i finally will have the .1!

oh, i don't deserve to be so happy!...but, i can't help it...i can't help it!!

hey, like i told the wife, er...like i'm going to explain to the wife later today...the M60s, VP150, and QS8s were getting lonely...got them in spring of '04...i hated to see them be all by themselves!

If I were truly plastered, could I do this?

Just don't hug the FexEx delivery person too hard. I hear they hate that.

Man, you are going to have some fun. You might want to take your wife out for dinner before you spend the night playing with the EP500 and shaking the walls at 2 AM.

Wow, a 500 would be exciting even if you already had a sub! If you've never had one, you're going to find the sub adds so much "heft" to the sound!

So don't apologize for the excitement, you should be excited! Hell, I'm excited for you too!

While I'm sure you've been enjoying your Axioms, and with good reason, I suspect the addition of the sub will add a surprisingly enjoyable element to music and, particularly, to movies, that will leave you wondering how you ever got along without it. Be sure to take the time to set it up and calibrate it properly. Enjoy.

Be sure to report back, and pictures are mandatory around here.

mullhead,

Congratulations! Since this is your first sub, you are in for a major thrill!!!! Nice choice for the first time - certainly no subwhimper involved here.

BTW, based on what I have read lately about deliveries, you won't need to drive over to O'Hare to pick it up. They'll just push it out of the plane as they fly over. Get a really big net!

Since it is your first sub, you may want to call into Axiom for advice on set up. I know that I went a little overboard on my first and almost blew it up.

You might want to spend the day bolting down all loose items in your house. Man I can't tell how much more satisfying movies are with a high quality sub. My SVS can honestly cause an upset stomach during extended 'blow up' scenes. I am sure that the Axiom will be more than enough to make you happily sick, or sickly happy!

CAUTION, A sub can be a drug, 2 are an addiiction. I have literly cracked the stucco that covers the concrete block on the outside of the HT room. 2 hurricanes last year coundn't do that!! I have turned into a bass junkie, I have gone through more felt and rubber stick-ons (to eliminate the rattles) than home depot stocks. Just don't get carried away like me.
