Okay, just received and setup...
60's
150
qs8's
500

I have one problem I am starting to get a headache about 30 min to an hour into using the speakers. My volume is not loud... I am wondering if something is incorrect in my setup.

I am using an rxv-2500 I did the auto setup and I have to turn the volume up to -15 to get a "room filling" sound. It isn't blaring at that level either. I need to move my center channel but that will be in a couple of weeks currently it is firing over my head in the sweet spot.

I don't know why I am starting to get small headaches the music isn't playing loud and the bass isn't turned up high. Any suggestions?

You're listening too closely. You're trying to hear everything, concentrating on listening.

Over time they'll be part of the sonic landscape and you won't find yourself so actively "trying to hear them."

What Bren said is most likely what's going on. When I listened to another forum member's system a few weekends ago, I left his house with a small headache because I was listening so intently to the speakers. Well, okay, it was also very loud!

Keep listening, though. Your ears and brain will adjust to the new sound over time, and you've got 30 days to decide whether you to keep the speakers or return them for a full refund.

Your system is composed of some of Axiom's best speakers. Besides giving you a headache (), how do you feel about the sound?

Let them play for a couple of days if you can, and that should pass. Just leave the FM tuner playing while you go to work if you can. The anti-break-in crowd will say your ears are getting used to the sound. The pro-break-in crowd will point out that it seems to work just as well even if you are not there when the speakers are playing.

I thought my M2s really sucked when I got them. After a couple of days of non-stop playing (when, in fact, I was 5000 miles away) I suddenly liked them. Go figure.

But it's not break-in.
But it's not break-in...

Well, I don't have my surrounds hooked up yet and have been watching tv, music listening, and playing xbox. I think they sound good. I am confident that they can sound a whole lot better though. Once I get the surrounds hooked up I will get an avia disk and start playing more with it. Unfortunatly, I will not be able to really do that until the end of the month. At this point I would not return the speakers because I know there is still a lot more on my end that needs to be done. By doing some listening tests I know that the speakers once correctly tuned are going to amaze me.

What part of PHX do you live in? I go to school up in Flag and go down to the valley about once a month. I'd LOVE to demo that EP500. I have never used Avia only the test tones from my reciever so I couldn't be of much help there. Either way, if you are up for demo I'd like to hear how much better the 60's are than my 22's as well.

I live right on the Chandler/Mesa border so the east valley. I should have everything setup at the end of the month. You can stop by whenever. Let me know, my e-mail is magre760@hotmail.com.

Cool, uh I live in the El Mirage/Surprise area which is pretty far away. I should be going home in a few weeks so I'll have to plan for this one. I'll get back to you.
