in reply to Jack:

I'd have a drink or two, and try to walk across the lake to Shania's. Jack Almighty! With my luck, I'd get half way across before I realized I'm not divine, and I'd drown.

Jack, you forgot to finish telling the story! After realizing your inability to stay afloat, Shania would dive in and rescue your pour soul. Then continue with a mouth to mouth session.....er resuscitation.

well i can contribute my not-yet world famous pulled pork barbeque, so long as there's a smoker up there (i'm not gonna haul my R2-D2 lookin' smoker all the way up there!! ) and because i'm such a nice guy, i'll bring my clubs and horrendous golf game for y'all to whupp up on. and i am sooooooo down for some Canadian fishing, i am about worn out of snagging carp here at work (literally, those suckers are heavy!) assuming my power plant's not in an outage...'cause then i'd have to work. and that would suck

bigjohn-i might even do some brisket, Texans don't have a lockdown on the 'cue ya know

Hmmm . . . this golf course is just a short boat ride away from our dock, and uber-beautiful in September:

Bigwin Island

Gene DellaSala and his wife can tell you all about it . . .

>>that far north their 4 seasons are June, July, August and winter!

Or as they said in North Dakota when I lived there briefly "if summer falls on a weekend this year I'm going to have a Picnic (or substitute other outdoor activity)!

Not sure about rivers, but the lakes have lots of trout. I think Axiom is far enough north that you can still eat the fish.

We used to go camping and hiking at Killarney (same general area but a bit north-east) and pick up freshly caught trout at the dock each day to grill for dinner. Life was good.
