I think my mix is one "sale" away from being certified platinum. (Platinum is 8 units, right?)

I don't think give-aways are considered in the count towards platimum status. Now, if we go out and buy at least one album going off the tracks on your disk, THAT would count.

Hey, hey, hey! Crazy mix, spiff!
There are some real gems on that disc (and a couple that had me scratchin' my head ). I'm gonna have to put some crazy music on mine in order to not appear too staid.

I'd love to hear your impressions of each track. Which ones did you like? Which one's had you scratching your head?

I don't have the 3 PAGES! of liner notes you supplied with me here, but I liked the opening jazz track. Nice recording, nice song, I wish I wasn't in the kitchen when I put the disc in. The Dirty Dozen song is very cool; raucous, sexy stuff that everybody is going to dig.

Then came the techno stuff right? Propellorheads was a great test of my speakers - really showed off the bass. I liked the song quite a bit, but it and some of the other "sounds like the disc is stuck" songs had the wife a little edgy. I did feel like I was at a rave. The baby was pretty dumbfounded.
Kristine W (?) can certainly sing and that was a nice quality recording, too.
I don't care for Sting too much, sorry.
The last song - the Moby track with the incredibly long title - was very pretty, lush, complex. It reminded me of DeBussey, but with modern electronic instruments and a repetitive line. Impressionist music, right?
I liked it, truly. Thanks for the time and obvious care and thought in putting it together. I'm going to give it a more thorough listening, from the sweet spot, ASAP.

I'd love to play with this, but I'm afraid my tastes are a little...pedestrian, mainstream even.

i was just gonna let y'all know that the discs i am sending are not going to be the quality of recordings to 'test' your system.. i thought the original idea was to make a cd of music that i like, not necessarily that sounds great. i hope y'all arent disappointed. the stuff i am sending out has a definite country vibe, but its Texas country, so its different, at least to me it is. the main thing to focus on in the songs is the writing, and how the words make you feel. its more about the attitude.

i will feel stupid if i make something up, and then you just toss it in the trash. but, that is a distinct possibility, so just keep an open mind.

I tried to pick songs which I both liked, and were good samples to really enjoy what great speakers we all have.

I had a blast putting it together, and will work on making a V.2 soon!

Ditto that. If it sounds good I like it.

BTW, all the tech geeks here at work suggest, a) that I slow down my burning rate to decrease errors, b) that I may need new CD-ROM and burner drives, c) might just want to buy a new tower for my home PC. Any smokin' deals out there right now?

Not sure if you have a PC Club near you, but they tend to have some pretty good deals. Roger builds them from scratch, so our last three have all come from parts that we bought from PC Club...though they have pre-built systems as well.
