Another quick question for all you audio pros out there. Im running my home theater with a Elite 45a dvd player and a Elite 53 tx receiver.
My dvd player also gives me the option to adjust the speaker setting (i.e. Size, distance, and level). Are the settings on the dvd player only taken into account when the multi channel analog output is being used (for dvd-a and SACD)? Or are these settings present when using the digital out as well?
Seems to me that if the latter is the case, then all my settings will be registered twice. For example, if I set my center at 12 feet on my dvd player and on my receiver, then, after going through both processors, it is like having it set at 24 feet? Might be a stupid question, maybe I just smoke too much crack
(joke).
The only thing I am sure of is that when using multi channel output, the receivers processing is completely bypassed.
By the way, the ep500 really rocks, I couldn't be more impressed. Just a little more tweaking to go. Sure kicks the cr*p out of the Athena P3. Only annoying thing I noticed is that it is so sensitive, that depending on the actual studio mix of a particular cd, I have to make manual bass level adjustments ( one cd's bass level might sound great, and then I'll pop in another cd, and wow, the bass will be so overwhelming I will have to turn it down on the sub). My 2 cents worth...
