Tom, I've never made my own interconnects, but in my travels around the internet, I occasionally come across a tutorial I figure is worth saving. I've not really examined this one closely, so I can't say it is a "good link." But this might help. Try a google search for "DIY interconnects," and you'll probably find a bunch more.

Here's the route I took to terminate the RG6 quad shield cable I had installed for our addition:

Doing the job was pretty straightforward, but I haven't done much testing to see if the quality of my DIY connects was up to snuff. I'll post again when I get some data.
