Hey, I was just reading some of the rumors members were making up for the 25th of Axiom, and I read that 40s were being clearanced off so I took a look at the prices (canada region)
It says the regular price of the m40s is 204$, while the outlet price is 306$; I added a pair to the cart for the hell of it and yep = 612$ total. I dunno if this is a mistake but it seems kinda weird that the outlet price would be 100$ higher than the regular price

The US version website looks OK though.
It is written as USD336 per pair, which is 40% off regular price

The M40ti's are being dropped from Axiom's line; hence the 40% off discount.

The outlet pricing is higher on the USA site as well.. $168 regular price vs. $252 factory outlet. Strange.

Sorry - we're fixing it now. Thanks for catching that! The deal is, M40s are 40% off regular pricing. So when we're out of firsts, there will only be seconds and then there won't be anything at all. Just to confirm! Thanks Freesey.

i say if I had a wife Id sell her!
Unfortunately, my credit card is maxed out right now and I need to pay off my schooling school (thank god I passed first semester), also I need a job for summer. But if you were wondering, yes - I would easily replace the Athenas I have as fronts with the M40s. easily. Being broke and loving audio products does not go hand in hand. Why do I always pick really expensive hobbies?
Hell id sell my watch if it didnt have a sentimental value, then again if I sold my watch Id be about to get a Epic 80 system

FWIW, the US page also lists the M40 as having TWO woofers in the specs section...

My resolve is fading fast. I was putting money aside to get the M3s in a custom finish, but at this price on the M40? Axiom, you make it hard for me to save money!

Somebody keep me from hitting the purchase button. . .

Yup, this would be the time to swap out the M3s as surrounds, for M40s....if only I could cross them at 40hz....

I remember poor old Uncle Charley a few years back(or was he a cousin; or someone elses cousin?-no matter)

When he was alive he was a louse, a real looser.

then he passed on.

What a peach of a guy......

My trigger finger is getting awfully itchy. All night I contemplated the differences between the soon to be legendary M40s and my M22s. I'm not saying I'm going to do this, but just for sake of argument, if I were to order a pair of M40s, use them as my fronts instead of my M22s just what would I be gaining. From descriptions I have read with the M40s I gain bass and a more pleasing sound experience. However, I stand to lose soundstage, clarity/detail and an argument with the Mrs. Have I left anything out? This is one tough decision or is it?? Still after all these years.

... and I just bought M3s (wanted M40s but didn't have the budget). Think I'm going to go cap in hand to Axiom and see if I can trade up...

I see M40s as fantastic standalone music speakers but for a pure HT system with a sub I would probably lean towards M22s. For a mixed-use system it would depend on the music/movie mix... I still prefer floorstanders w/o sub to bookshelves with sub for music in most cases.

Went ahead and hit the purchase button last night! My intention is to use them as standalones for music. Good call, bridgman.

Soon to find out about the Axiom sound.

I don't suppose there is any chance of that decoder ring, eh Mark? Only for the M60 group. . .

I just got confirmation of the purchase this morning.
They should be here in a couple of days.
Hopefully a listening review with the M60s as a comparison will be available by the end of the month. I'll try to get Bren to come along unless his daytime comedy routine keeps him too busy to attend.

OK, serious now... who else is SEROIUSLY considering getting a pair of the 40's, just cause its a great deal..? anyone..?

i know i am. i will eventually have a bar, and i planned on putting my old vegas, that were replaced by my M60's, in that room.. but they are BIG and punchy, and take up lots of space.. so then i start thinking.... maybe, i can sell the vegas for say $250, maybe $300 bucks, then the 40's would only end up costing me a tad more than a good night out to dinner with the family. the real problem will be to convince the wife that this is the best plan.. she already hates the vegas, which is why they were replaced with the 60's in the first place.. man, i really need to come up with a plan on this one.. and fast, cause i dont think the 40's will be around for more than 2-3 weeks. just a guess..?

BTW- i have emailed about 10 of my friends who have heard my system, and told them the 40's are on sale..might try and get a small axiom sub group out here in west Texas..

I've informed a few people myself that are looking for affordable loudspeakers. I wonder if this is for real. Think about all the furniture stores that say they are having "Going out of Business Sales" each year and they never go out of business

I don't think they are going to last that long. Try 2-3 days...

I agree.
A note from Amie this morning had included a statement about one finish already being sold out.
These M40s are not going to last.
I also inquired about the possible future sale of QS8s in a similar manner. I received a sharp return reply along the lines of "Are you freakin kidding?". (A bit of ad lib in there).
What can i say, i tried.

Amie can only be swayed by so many bottles of wine.
Maybe we could try another run at her next month, maybe on the new EP sub series or perhaps something smaller, like the speaker cable?
40% off the bulk Axiom cable would be fantastic. I would probably buy a lifetime supply of 1000 feet.

Such a good deal...I broke down and ordered a pair and some banana plugs. No Boston Cherry left, so I got Black Oak. I'm going to give them (and a nice little stereo receiver) to my parents since they've been wanting a system in the dining room anyways.

I must have ordered one of the last pair of Boston Cherry, then. Maybe they won't be a graduation present, he snickered.

I wonder when the M60 discontinued sale starts. I might have to jump all over that.

The M40s have been on life support for a while, I wouldn't expect anything else to join them soon.

The only problem with M40s is that they are a perfect fit for a music system but we live in an increasingly HT-focused world.
