I used to read back through the archives when I was trying to acquire as much knowledge as I could about making my first serious HT purchase. It was incredibly informative. I don't read back through them quite as much as I used to, but it's still fun to just browse threads of old and read. You can always learn some new info or take something from someone else's experience. I also found searching Alan's technical replies/newsletters to be of tremendous value as well. Anyone else read back into the archives?

On a sidenote anyone find some of their old posts amusing? I look back at my first few posts and they usually progressed something along these lines:

"Best receiver for under $300?"
Then weeks later...
"Best receiver for under $500?"
then....
"Best receiver for under $800?"

"Best receiver for under $1000?"

Beware of upgradeitis my friends, it is a terrible disease.

TNT,

I have really enjoyed reading the old posts. Just last night I found one about musical receivers. Some of the folks in that 2002-3 post are posting today on the amplifier thread.

Most interesting is the number change and feature changes of the receivers.

We will be upgrading forever.
