No, not coffee--an earthquake. No idea of the strength, but it shook my upstairs room pretty good. Short, but hit suddenly--no gradual roll in. Been a while since we had a noticeable shake. Normally these don't bother me, but for some reason it really got my heart pounding.

Well, back to relaxing. . .

I hope your Axioms are ok .

I've always wondered if people in your parts have earthquake insurance.

Most homeowners I know in Calif. don't carry earthquake insurance, the cost is just to prohibitive.

I'm sure there are some with earthquake insurance, but I don't really know. It's funny, I can tell I've been through a few quakes because I instantly jumped up and stood in the doorway. I'm sure if the house comes tumbling down the door frame I stand under will still be intact .

Thanks, Randy. No worries, it wasn't that big--just unexpected. Wait, aren't they all?

Edit--Okay, just checked and it was substantial--4.7. Shows you what I know. . . Thankfully, it was short.
