In some of the most exciting news of the year, Linus got tired after 39 major releases on the 2.6 branch and unilaterally bumped the next kernel version number to v3.0.

Will Mr. Torvalds sell Linux kernel 3.0 upgrade modules? I'm still running 2.6 and I don't want to pay for an entirely new kernel.
