1) Tire age does not mean miles on the tire.
2) In other countries, tires around 6 years old are recommended to be replaced.
3) To check your tires' age, look for the long set of numbers after "DOT" on your tires' sidewalls (may be on the inside sidewall), and the very last set of numbers is the age. The first 2 numbers are the WEEK of manufacture, and if there is 4 numbers total, then the last two are the year, if there is only a 3rd digit and not a fourth, then that represents 199X.
Example, if it is DOT blah blah blah 0608, then the tire was made the 6th week of 2006. If the tire has DOT blah blah blah 368, then it was made the 36th week of 1998 and it 10 years old. YIKES!
