Just an note to my early "shopping" thread. I got the sub via UPS today. Let me just say that 16" round x 31" tall didnt seem that big....until I got it out of the box. This thing is massive!

I instantly fell in love with the sound too because I never hear it by itself. It's one of the few subs that I have owned that really did disappear (by sound, definitely not out of sight...ITS HUGE!!). Im wishing I would have purchased this instead of my Velodyne HGS 10" a few years back.

I have the sub placed in a corner behind the front right speaker, may not be the best place, but its the only place that will fit in my small apartment room. Unfortunately my girlfriend is out of town with the digital camera, so no pics yet. Tomorrow I should get my projector via UPS so I can get the screen installed and everything done. My girlfriend gets back on Sunday, and has no clue any of this was being done....I wish I had the camera to catch the look on ther face when she sees an 80" screen in the apt =)

I think your reaction to the size of the new sub was the same as mine. I had seen pictures and knew the exact dimensions, but that didn't prepare me for when I saw it for the first time in person.

Same here (except is was the 20-39) and ended up sending it back for the VTF-2. Very happy with my choice

did you hear a vtf-2 that made you change your mind?

Yeah, I did a side by side comparison and liked the VTF-2 better, not that I didn't think the SVS sounded good too. Search the archives if you want to see the review I did. I was in the March/April time frame.

I dont think I want to search the archives....I dont want upgraditis to hit after 1 day!
