I just purchased this receiver online for a bout half the cost that I could buy it in Canada for.

Can anyone recomend some floor speakers that may go nicely with this receiver? Does not have to be Axiom.......

I am looking in the US$1000 range for floor speakers and around 450 for a center.

I am new to this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

Welcome fan22. As you may or may not know, all hk's will drive the Axiom speakers easily and sound good too. Can you tell us a little more about your listening habits? What kind of music do you listen to? Are you into sacd/dvd-audio? How much of your listening time will be spent watching movies? And last but not least, what is the size of your room?

Of course...I will be using this set for probably 60% movies(dvd) and the rest music.

I have a pretty wide open musical taste. I listen to a little of everything, from bassy electronic music to hard rock. And everything in between.(exception is country of course... )

The room is fairly large, it is approximately 20' x 20 ' x 9.'

I was a huge movie fan before I bought my Axiom set-up as well. After I hooked it up I realized how much I missed my music! I was about 60-40 movies to music post purchase, now I am probably 70-30 music to movies!!

I did the same thing with my receiver AVR630. The cost was around 1200CAD, about 600$ less than the cost here at Future Shop. The only problem is warranty, there is none for Harmon products if you purchse them in the States.

Are you talking Canadian funds for that purchase? The Epic Grand Master (sans sub) would be around 1500$. I have read that the M22's sound similar to my M60's, which is a good thing.
