a friend of mine is going to upgrade his pre-amp,2 channel only,looking for oppinions,and model #s,open to all suggestions,looking for clean sound,and easy to use...thanks...ron

Would he be interested in my Adcom GFP-565 stereo preamp? Excellent condition except for minor scratches on the case top (invisible from front anyway). I am prepared to beat any Audiogon prices. The preamp has been retired since I bought the Elite 45TX receiver.

Oh, and it is well broken-in!!!

Masa, do you use your Elite for HT only or is it also your music amp?

Check out this, I think it runs about $1,200US, and it's gotten great reviews.

Ron, the power amp is the Adcom GFP-555II, a 200W/325W x 2 (into 8/4 ohms) unit, which still drives my Hales fronts. Let me know if he is interested in the pre/power amp combo.
