I figured the Stereo forum was as good a place as any; so here goes....

I purchased a new rock CD a few weeks ago. I never heard of the band etc. I do this sometimes...take a chance on some band I never heard and give it a try. This time, it worked out rather well.

The band is called Hand Over and the CD is titled 'You and Me'. I would call it melodic rock.

If you like rock, try to find some downloads or whatever from this CD. I find it to be a really interesting style of rock and quite original....at least to me, anyway.

Hope you are all well and enjoying life. Peace....

Hey, thanks for the recommendation. I'm always looking for new music, though lately that's been 'old' music that's new to me (mostly jazz and blues). But I like rock too from time to time.

I'll have to look these guys up and see if they have any samples for download...

Bill

You might also want to try a group called "Swinging Steaks" out of Boston. Their music is called rock/alt. country. I heard them when I was listening to a Boston talk show that was on location in some club. I can't understand why I haven't heard them on the radio before or since. I've purchased a couple of their CD's through their website.

If you are into melodic metal, I suggest trying out Apocalyptica. Especially Quutamo off of their self titled album, track #2 - that's good stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I too am always on the watch for new bands. For "melodic rock" I suggest:

Dredg - El Cielo or Catch Without Arms (comes out June 21) I was really shocked when I saw that these guys were on Interscope Records. Not your every day big label band.

Blackfield - Blackfield

Porcupine Tree - In Absentia or Deadwing

Now I'm off to check out y'all's suggestions.
