Hi everyone,Iam new here,my name is Harry from Athens Greece, and I just bought the 2 Axiom's qs8 v2 iam expecting them the next 3-4 days.I bought them to replace the 2 bipolar surround definitive tech BP1,2X,from which iam in general satisfyied.
I took that decision upon the very good posts and reviews i have heard about them, and not from personal acoustic experience, because here in Greece no one has it.
So the question is,did I made the right choice?
I mean, sould i hear better surround or sound from them,or it will sound about the same?
Iam very anxious to here your opinions, before i have it here in 3-4 days from now.
For instance, the amplifier i use is DENON AVR-4308CI
Thank you in advance.

Harry.

Harry, welcome. The problem with just about any question that has a "vs" in it is that unless someone has compared the two items in the same place at the same time and with everything else as near equal as possible, any comparison isn't really going to be accurate. In this case, very few have heard the Def Techs(I haven't)and probably nobody has been able to make the sort of simultaneous comparison that I described.

As you apparently have already read, the QS8s are extremely impressive performers and you almost certainly won't be disappointed in them and can be confident that you made a good choice. As to how much better than the Def Techs they'll be, you're going to be the judge of that and hopefully you'll let us know. Your 4308 is certainly an excellent receiver and I'm sure that your setup will sound great.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Welcome Harry!

Nothing to add from John's post other than the fact that I've drank many a beer at Bobby's Bar in Glyfada many moons ago and I really enjoyed Athens, great place!

Harry, welcome...I think you will recognize a difference. The Axiom's are a quadpolar design having 4 drivers firing all in phase that completely wrap you in the experience. I don't think you can say the same for BiPole designs.

Well after 1 month i have and test a lot of dvds and blue ray discs,I now can say that those qs8 v2 are by far better than the Definitive BP1,2X i had.
So now Iam very happy from the purchase I made and from personal accoustic experience I all can say that,YES it worth the change.
RickF last weekend i was in Boddy,s Bar in Glyfada and i remember you.
If you ever come again let me know.
Thanks everybody for your reply and I will try to post some photos from the home cinema i have.
