Does anyone here have experience with M22 on wall/in wall? We just moved to a new home and our new family room dosent really fit my M50/M3 and VP100 setup as well as we would like so I am looking at the Epic Grand Master 175 which has the M22 but I cant seem to find much feedback on here about them. Some movies but mostly concert DVD's and I do like to play loud. I have been very happy with the M50

I would go with an EP350, myself.

I have the in/on wall M22's using an in/on M2 center in a 7.1 setup with QS8's and EP500. I am very happy with the sound of the M22's and find they can play very loud, but my HT room is fairly small at something just under 1500 cf.

What size is your room?

From my experience when I built my HT, I was forced to consider only lower profile on-wall solutions, the Axiom in/on walls were the only ones I found that could deliver great sound quality at a reasonable price. Ask away with any in/on wall questions! I also found information specifically on the in/on walls tough to find, so happy to help.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks Dan, The room is about 14x18x8. Are there ever any issues with the speakers vibrating the wall?

I use the M22 on-wall version. There are no vibration issues. For sonic reasons, if you can do it, my first choice would be to wall mount the bookshelf M22. Next choice would be in-on/wall M22. Finally the on-wall M22. Don't go with less than an EP350.

I hadnt considered wall mounting the bookshelf M22, interesting idea that I will give some thought. You think the ep350 makes that much difference over ep175?

Fully agreed with Cat. I would have gone with wall mount of full size M22's if i could have. The in/on wall was the best compromise I could make.

I have not heard the EP175, but I would agree an EP350 should be the minimum from Axiom for a movie setup. Keep in mind that the EP350 and 500 share the same cabinet, so if budget is not too tight you can upgrade to the 500 for the same footprint as 350.

There is a tremendous difference between the EP175 and EP350. I know because I started out with the 175 but traded up before the 30 day trial period ended. EP175 good for lower volume in small room. EP350 good for booming bass in small to medium sized room. Would probably want the 500 or a pair of 350's for a larger room.

My room approx. 8 x 16 with vaulted ceiling 8 x 12, with 1 small opening and 1 large opening.

I have not heard the EP175 but I have heard the 350 and it is worth the money. I have compared similarly sized subs from different manufactuers and have always found the smaller sub lacks the energy for good HT, the smaller size was good enough for music but couldn't move enough air for good effects in movies.
