first off Merry Christmas to everyone, now on to buisness.I feel a little upset right now but I won't add any opinions on how I feel about these speakers yet because I know stuff happens.getting ready for the big Christmas party at my house and turned on the stereo for some party music and noticed my systen did'nt sound right.on further inspection I found that the tweeters weren't working.I crossed the input connections on my amp and still no tweeters on the right speaker.so for the first time since I've owned these speakers I went inside for a look see.I noticed that every connection on the drivers were very lose and I tightened them all up.the white wire in the bottom tweeter was completely off so I connected it.tightened it all up and turned on my system and still no tweeters on the right.these are m-80's and all the internal connections were very lose.I can only think that due to internal vibrations and bad wire connections the wire to the tweeters vibrated off and then the crossover blew unless there is something else I am overlooking.

Did you make sure nobody played with the bi-wire jumpers on the speaker?

Steve, if all the wires are connected(including at the crossover), I have no idea. If the wire vibrated loose as you suggested(although this shouldn't happen, even after years), that shouldn't cause any damage to either the tweeter or crossover. Your report of all the loose connections is disturbing, of course, and maybe you should discuss it with Joe at Axiom.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

I switched tweeters with the other speaker and they work fine.I also switched speakers and the speaker in question still has dead tweeters and the wires are all connected and soldered to the board on the crossover with no visual damage or cracked solder.I hope I don't have to send this speaker back to the factory as that would be a serious PITA.the only thing that makes sense to me is somehow the crossover went bad.I e-mailed Amie but they are most likely off for a long holiday weekend.

well you wont have to send the whole thing back , at the worst you will have to just send back the xovber and wires. no biggie. and then they can just send you a new one.
