Do you think I can push the VP180 with this receiver till I can get another monoblock or should I play it safe and leave it in the box till I get a 4-ohm capable amp?

You have other monoblocks now?

I so, I think the receiver might be fine if it's only pushing the center and surrounds. Just start easy...

Yes the M80s are run by monoblocks, the surrounds and center by the receiver

So you're going to spend more money instead of learning that the 1500 has a substantial 4 ohm capability.

the receiver should drive your 80's and 180 fine without mono's.

If there were any speakers that were designed for external or professional amps it would be the M80's and VP180. Why do you think there are 2 tweeters instead of 1 in the driver complement - power handling.
