Battle outdoors using tanks and walkers

I saw this line on the Id Software home page (they make Doom, Quake etc...). My first thought was "sending an old guy with a walker up against a tank hardly seems fair" but apparently they are talking about Star Wars-style walkers, not the wheeled frame my father uses to herd other pedestrians off the sidewalk...
