Who's Natalie Portman and why is her butt important?
She's Princess Amedumdum from Star Wars. Her butt is not important to me.
I like Natalie Portman. She's pretty funny. I really like the old interview clips of her when she was promoting The Professional.
Yes, her character in Star Wars was pretty lame, but then so was everyone's.
I thought she was absolutely excellent in V even though she messed up her accent a couple of times.
Leon The Professional was an excellent movie. I forgot that she was in it.
She was also great in Garden State - a quirky but excellent movie.
I first noticed her in Beautiful Girls . . . a good movie for the eternal teenager in every man. She was quite good, it was easy to see her emerging talent.
Wow, I saw her in the movie with Sally Fields, and she was just awful. I haven't been able to take her seriously since, especially with the Star Wars debacle on top of that.
For those who missed the the first time around..
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/149127/natalie_portman_snl_gangsta_rapper/It was on network TV, yet it isn't exactly work safe, either.
Anyway, I'm very pro-Natalie Portman. George Lucas ruins actors, don't judge her by Star Wars.
Hi,
I cannot comment on her work in the movie with Sally Fields; I have not seen it but a critic wrote these words for her in Beautiful Girls . . .
Portman was memorable as the little girl in The Professional, but her work here throws off an eeriness in its revelation of such huge talent in one so young. Jeff Millar, Houston Chronicle,
Yeah, it's strange. As a teen-ager, she was great in The Professional, but she's been lousy in everything else I've seen her in. I also saw her some years ago in a live production of a Chekhov play at the outdoor Delacorte Theater in New York's Central Park, where she came riding onstage on a horse. She was unconvincing in that play as well, although the horse was quite believable. Some of the other actors in that production--Meryl Streep, John Goodman, Christopher Walken--were excellent.
Regards,
I would agree and say she's not the greatest actress, or at least, she doesn't choose the best roles for herself. Besides Leon: The Professional, I really liked her in Garden State, even though I didn't like the movie. That's about it. I think I've been more impressed with her interviews.
I never did see Beautiful Girls. I may have to do that sometime.
Oh, and she wasn't a teenager in The Professional. I believe she was 11, right? Maybe 12?

Oh, damn... I missed that in my cursory glance through.
Well played, Alan!

So no one liked Natalie in V for Vendetta? I thought she did a pretty good job in that. I really liked Garden State, but more because I thought Zach Braff actually did a decent job with the script.
I enjoyed her in V as well...and Garden State is a fav of mine.

Not until you come up with a new avatar....
Actually, I've always liked your current one....
Perchance, did you see Zarak's dog lingering around her with anticipation in his eyes?
dude, that's just wrong
...now I need a shrink to remove that mental picture.
Dogs must wonder why we choose to smell everything but each other.
Ha! I have to admit that I lol'd at myself. Actually it was a GOL, giggling like Homer J. Simpson.
Funny, there's a lot of mental illness in Fredericksburg. It seems to follow me wherever I go. Nothing like creating your own business.

My apologies, sir!
If we didn't have shrinks, would there still be crazy people?

My dog, Ollie, is pretty into that too. He wouldn't be lingering with anticipation though, he'd be diving right in there.
Must take after his old man.
The way you guys comment on things, I just realized I need to clarify that while Ollie might go after anything he can get a piece of, his dad is strictly females, specifically my lovely wife. (why do I feel someone will still find a way to twist this on me)

Don't worry. We all believe you.
