New house, almost finished, long story short, I got myself messed up, back tore up, ribs tore up. So, I got to get someone to build a bar for me. I have no idea what direction to go in, looking for pictures for ideas. Anyone got some? The internet is surprisingly useless for bar pictures.
I just tried a
google search for "basement bar" and it returned a bunch of results.
There is no useless internet. Only useless searches.
Oh, and sorry to hear about your aching body! Ow. Hope you mend quickly.
What are your must haves? I have a bar that came with my house, but I'm planning on redoing it. One of the things that I don't like about mine is that it doesn't have sufficient shelf space nor does it have glass hanging options. I plan on rectifying both and have the ideas in my head on how to do it, but I don't have pics to show.
Keep in mind what you want to display, liquor bottles, wine bottles, glasses, all the above, etc. Do you want the shelves lit from above or below, a mirror behind the shelves, under bar storage, etc. Are you including a beer tap (kegerator), wine cooler, ice maker or fridge? I"m assuming that you'll have a sink. Are you including a TV in the mix. You'll need plenty of storage for all of your bar supplies.
Just some things to think about.
I'm not much of a photographer, but a couple pictures of our small bar.
I am also searching for good bar designs. The following web site is a excellent resource for pictures, and you can also purchase a membership which gives you access to their current and future bar plans. Hope this helps.

Cool. Too bad we can't see exactly which beers they have on tap!
Looks very inviting, HomeDad. I'd be happy on either side of that bar, though I'd prefer the seated side.

If you are ever in the area you welcome to join me at the bar.

I dunno.
Some pretty useless sites out there, even
self described as useless .
That's beautiful, Michael. Very inviting and functional.
Stymie, excellent observations.
Cam, I found the same site very useful when I was considering this topic. We ended up deferring the project to "the next house". I'm thinking what I need to do is find a job in Utah and buy Dave L's place.
Newf, so sorry to hear that you're damaged. Take it easy and get well soon.
One more site for the mix, Newf (groan!)
Great Rec Rooms Hope you mend soon!

OK, Late to the party. Been busy. You know how it goes... so here's the bar.
This matches the kitchen on the other side of the room.

Now that I really like... it's simple and understated... doesn't scream "I want my house to look like the local tavern"...

Very nice! You've inspired me to clean up my bar area.
I'll try to take some recent pictures of my homemade bar I did from scratch, a lot of scratching of my head.
Anyway, it turned out pretty cool and I just got some new 34" custom stools...
Below is an old pic before the top level was attached. I still need to install the sink as well.
Those are some beautiful bars. I found this video on youtube of what could be touted as the world's most advanced bar.

If they could incorporate my Harmony 1000 into it I would buy it
