Just saw this today and it is thrilling, well deserved news for someone we all know and greatly respect.

Congratulations Jack!!!
Oh, crap. Jack got a real job. Now he has a legitimate excuse to neglect us. Maybe JP will give us a discount rate on our Jack Withdrawal Group Therapy.

Ray, thanks for sharing the good news. So, I guess Jack has ignored long-standing pleas to "write if you get work" \:\)

Brilliant move by MLS.

Jack, I'm happy for you. Congrats!
Congratulations Jack! I am sure that the new job will keep you very busy. Stop in if you get a chance to keep us updated on how things are going.
That is great news! Congratulations Jack. . .err, I mean, Your Excellency. ;\)

I wonder if Jack's not going to hang out with us anymore? \:\(
Congrats!

As soon as they are officially in place, let's ALL sign up new accounts at the same time! What a busy day that would be! \:\)

Yeah, well I had to do something to keep me from sleeping on heating grates in downtown Cleveland. Axiom refused to issue me a HUGE block of stock ;\) so what's a guy supposed to do? Poverty, at any age, is a drag. But, at my age it's downright dangerous.

I have always been, and always will be, an Axiom fan and supporter. I have to ask Ian and Amie's permission, but it is my intent to remain a forum member as nothing more, nor less, than just that - An Axiom fan and supporter. There are just too many people I care about around here, and the ties go too deep.

Thanks to all of you for the good wishes and words of support.
Awesome News Jack! Congratulations on your new job and fancy title. Mr. Ambassador

Congrats Jack, I'm sure you are going to do well in your new position.
Awesome, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Are you going to get a cut from Amie and Ian when Axiom sales spike?
Your Exellency, does that mean you are going to get a bunch of new equipment so you can truly help with first hand experience? Something to push them for.;\)

Congratulations, Jack, I think you stumbled onto what a lot of might consider one of their dream jobs, something in HT, well done.

Hope it works out for you.

Great to here Jack...good luck with the new position. I'm sure you'll be great for it!

Jack is one of those guys who you either like, or you're just dumb. \:\)

Congrats, Jack. I could have happened to a nicer guy, but he would have declined the position so that you could get it.

Good show, Jack!
Good for you my friend. \:\)

Hey, Jack, that's really cool. Seriously, don't Mojo on us.
Wow! That's cool, Jack! \:\) You are such a welcoming and pleasant gentleman who is also full of knowledge. I'd say the title fits you perfectly!
Congratulations Jack, it's nice to see that good things do happen to good people.

Congratulations Jack!

Truly an honor as it shows the great respect you have earned over there. Too bad your friends here don't give you any! heh heh
Who says we give him any respect at AV123? \:D

J/K Jack. Congrats! Wishing you the best!

Yeah, I'm equally abused at all forums.

Folks, I can't express how much your kind words and friendly support means to me. This is a great community and I've learned a ton here. I will continue to rely on your knowledge and helpfulness. My sincere thanks to you all.
Jack that job sounds like tons of fun.

Hmm, maybe i'll meander on over to the AVS forums and sign up....

(hey, psst, can anyone see if Jack is cringing?)

;\) \:D
Good stuff Jack.
Posted By: Ajax Re: Great News for a friend of ours - Ajax!!! - 03/08/08 04:59 PM
Not cringing at all. You'd be most welcome, Chess. Just make sure you sign up at the av123 forums rather than the avs forums.

Oh Jack you could've stayed quiet on that one and had me guessing for days.

At the risk of sounding stupid.......

These are not the same? I've never been involved in any HT forums other than this and Audioholics.... I always thought that AVS and AV123 were the same...?
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Great News for a friend of ours - Ajax!!! - 03/08/08 07:29 PM
Heh... not even vaguely. AV123 is the forum run by the people who sell Rockets and the like. AVS is an independent grouping of trolls audiophiles.
So.... Jack is working for the "good" one.... Even better news. I always thought they were the same, and never wanted to venture onto the AV123 site because I thought (wrongly) that it was full of jerks.....

The folks over at AV 123 are pretty good folks too. I joined some time ago when I bought the x-sub for my sons room.
Yeah, this forum and AV123 are very similar in that they are filled with knowledgeable and friendly people.

Second that BIG TIME. Jack is the finest example of that truism.
We're cooler.

LOL! That reminds me of how I became acquainted with Mark over at AV123.

Back in '04 there was a lot of enmity between the two forums (Axiom and AV123) due, primarily, to a dust-up here at the Axiom forum with one particular individual who felt it necessary to go over to the AV123 and call in reinforcements who came over here, joined the forum, and joined the fray. Even an AV123 employee joined in which I thought was way out of line.

In the thread started by this particular individual over at the AV123 forum, many forum members were saying almost the same thing Tom said above, but not in jest. They went on, ad infinitum, about how much better than us they were.

I had witnessed Mark's openness and willingness to accept criticism over at the AVS (not AV123) forum. So, believe it or not, I screwed up my courage and emailed Mark my thoughts and complaints. He responded by asking if he could give me a telephone call to discuss the issue. He called and we talked, rationally and calmly. He agreed with me on many points, and we agreed to disagree on others. All in all, it was a positive experience, and I came away with a lot of respect for Mark. That was, quoting Rick (in Casablanca), "the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

I'm happy to report that, for the most part, relations between the two forums have warmed considerably with a number of folks posting at both forums. The simple fact is, the members of both forums have much more in common than not. In fact, there recently was a thread at AV123 where one member praised, and highly recommended, the Axiom Algonquin outdoor speakers he had purchased. The concept that preferring one particular brand doesn't mean any other is junk seems to be gaining wider acceptance, as is the understanding that it isn't necessary to run down another's preference in order to justify our own.

Interestingly, the same gentleman who caused the unfortunate brouhaha between the forums has, due to his contentiousness, just about worn out his welcome at the AV123 forum, and the employee who came over here to do battle is no longer an AV123 employee.

Hmm... I think I was thinking of the SPoT dustup when I first started reading your posts. Happily, I don't recall the incident to which you refer. In any case, congratulations, Jack!
Posted By: Ajax Re: Great News for a friend of ours - Ajax!!! - 03/09/08 04:55 AM
I went looking for the thread but, mercifully, I'm sure it was deleted. I had it down to the exact day, but couldn't find any posts by the individual or former employee in question. Just as well, I suppose.

Jack, I'll go ahead and give you some credit for furthering progress in this area. The more we model tolerance and respect, the more likely we are to see it in others.

btw, I like the Victrola avatar much better than the helmet one. \:\)
Posted By: Ajax Re: Great News for a friend of ours - Ajax!!! - 03/09/08 07:08 AM
I do too. But I couldn't resist using, as an avatar, the current helmet used by my high school football team, the Bay Village High School "Rockets."
Jack,

Up at 1 AM! Must be worried about the new job.
Posted By: Ajax Re: Great News for a friend of ours - Ajax!!! - 03/09/08 03:44 PM
Hey! Give me credit will ya? That was 3 AM my time, not 1 AM. I was watching old, pre-morality code, movies (Baby Face-1933, with Barbara Stanwyck) Didn't get to bed 'til 4 AM which, due to the change in time, was, by the clock, actually 5 AM. Time for a nap. Buh Bye.
