Just what are Noreen and Amie working on for the first person to cross 10,000 posts on the message boards?
{praying this doesn't spark a frenzy of one-letter posts to get someone else there first!}
Overseeing the growth process of young Peter gremlins to be shipped with future Axiom purchases? The Peter gremlins will come flying out of the port holes on a nightly basis and screw up your reciever's settings.
T!
EDIT:
Oh, come on, you asked for it. It would take a few more than this to catch up to Peter, though...
Sean, that's funny.
What happens if you water them or feed them?
What if they got access to your computer? Dear God!
What happens if you water them or feed them?
They grow funny shaped goatees.
This photo looks like it should be the subject of a caption contest.
OK, Axiomites, please provide the caption for that photo.
My first attempt:
"OK, Noreen, when Randy gets down on all fours to do the 'subwoofer crawl', flip that switch to electrify the floor!"

"OK, Noreen, when Randy gets down on all fours to do the 'subwoofer crawl', flip that switch to electrify the floor!"
"Uh oh. Ian's conducting warehouse pep talks in his underwear again. Uh, why are we squinting?"
Heh heh heh... I like Doc's idea. And his attempt. Let's see...
"All missiles locked on Monster Cable headquarters."
"Launch on my mark.
MARK!"
"Launching, aye aye!"
Oh my! I know exactly where that shot was taken!!
Congrats Peter.
Oh my! I know exactly where that shot was taken!!
Congrats Peter.
The truck drivers' bathroom?
Yeah, congrats, Peter. . .
1. Sandblasting Peter's likeness onto a woofer cone because it would be amusing to watch his face go in and out of blur with the music.
2. Producing Warning signs for the province just in case Peter has been secretly waiting for this milestone post to trigger his personal as opposed to online stalking of Axiom.
3. Developing the pmbuko series speakers; they will be surprisingly tall, but they're not very efficient and the signal-to-noise ratio is regrettably low.
3. Developing the pmbuko series speakers; they will be surprisingly tall, but they're not very efficient and the signal-to-noise ratio is regrettably low.
... moreover, they intermittently emit noxious fumes from their ports ...
Caption:

Noreen: Looks like Peter's strapped in the chair.
Amie: Why'd he insist on wearing Mark's spandex suit and cape?
Noreen: Who knows why he does anything?
Amie: Yeah, good point. So Ian and Alan caught him wandering around the compound?
Noreen: Yeah, he says he's a shareholder-in-the-making. He's clearly delusional. I even asked medic8r. Doc clued me in on Peter's multiple issues.
Amie: Hmmph. So he thinks that this will be an homage to the
Maxell armchair ad?
Noreen: Yeah, that's what we told him! (chuckles knowingly)
Amie: OK, let's get this over with. Release the hounds ...
"I told you his hair would stand on-end when we threw the switch"
"Noreen and Amie watch in amazement as CV and Claire are released into the mating enclosure"
Either that, or they're giggling.
"I told you he could take 5 hours at 150dB!"
3. Developing the pmbuko series speakers; they will be surprisingly tall, but they're not very efficient and the signal-to-noise ratio is regrettably low.
... moreover, they intermittently emit noxious fumes from their ports ...
That's a surprisingly accurate assessment.
Reminds me vaguely of that Far Side cartoon, "School for the Gifted", where the kid is pushing hard to try and get in, with a PULL sign clearly marked on the door.
3. Developing the pmbuko series speakers; they will be surprisingly tall, but they're not very efficient and the signal-to-noise ratio is regrettably low.

That's a surprisingly accurate assessment.
I agree completely.
I vote for the 10,000 post caption to read "Working hard or hardly working?"
Perfect.
My wife would frame that and put it over my computer at work.
Good thing she doesn't read the boards ...
This photo looks like it should be the subject of a caption contest.
OK, Axiomites, please provide the caption for that photo.
My first attempt:
"OK, Noreen, when Randy gets down on all fours to do the 'subwoofer crawl', flip that switch to electrify the floor!"
"Ouch! That must have hurt! I guess we're going to need another tester!"
Judging by the captions thus far, it's clear that the general community's impression of Noreen and Amie is that they are not necessarily the safest people to be around.
Or that Peter is richly deserving of torture.
"...but Alan said we could just use a blindfold for the blind testing..."
"I thought MarkSJohnson said that the ear enhancements were painless?"
"Maybe that'll teach him to stop making 'woofer' jokes"
"...and just think, next month is KCarlile!"
It's a long way down from me... y'all better start posting more if you want to get your own ear enhancements and eye removals!
Good ones, Mr. Tuttle.
Some people go for Quality not quantity with their posts :P
I think this is probably whats being said though...
Amie: "Myth Confirmed!! The Brown note does actually exist!... Poor guy..."
Noreen "Sigh...I'll go get him a clean pair of pants..."
Apparently I missed the party completely.
I suppose being completely irreplaceable at work has its ups and downs because there was a pile of work waiting for me after being away last week....
So, if I am to take the bait and guess what could possibly be inside that chamber, is Axiom actually gifting me the last surviving member of the Roswell UFO's crew? If so, I'm going to need the chamber, as well. Can it be disassembled for shipment?
Ok, so on a more serious note, I'd guess that's the custom finish room. I have to tell you right now that I have absolutely no room for M1000s. They'd have to sit in their shipping crates in the attic -- if I could get them up the there -- until the real estate market figures itself out and I can move into a bigger house.
I'm second-guessing myself. Maybe that's the MarkSJohnson room simulator where you test speakers under the worst possible conditions. Could you possibly be working on a subwoofer that even Mark could be happy with?
I'm going to say a pair of Audiobytes with this découpaged on each side:
Bren R.
Découpage. Now there's a word you don't hear from a guy trying to maintain an image. Does your bed have a duvet, perchance?
(And now there were 10.)
Hey, hey, hey, slow down. At least wait until I'm within 50 posts of you.
He's getting to close! Nuke his office from orbit!
Or shoot his office into the Sun!
Or encase his office in a Jell-o mold!
9 more to go as of right now...
He needs to hurry up and post more so we can see what they are baking for him in that oversized Suzy Homemaker oven!
Just what are Noreen and Amie working on for the first person to cross 10,000 posts on the message boards?
That looks like overseeing, not working, and I bet with two captains the plaque is going to look a little conflicted.
Seriously, though, I'm excited to see what emerges from that room.
By the way, the second person to 10,000 should get free airfare to visit Peter and take his prize away.
Over my dead body and out of
rigor mortised hands.... But you're welcome to come.
Just post up to 9999 and stop posting. It's like not breaking the record out of respect for the previous record holder...although I guess there isn't one of those in this case.
Okay, all boxed up!
It's a cake!
You forgot to put in the air holes for Alan!
I can't wait to see Peter's face when Alan jumps out of the cake and sings "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" ...
maybe it'll be like the y2k bug. the system is not set to handle the extra digit.
The world is going to explode if you go over 9999! stop posting now, and request your gift be sent to me.
Is that a
3 I see on the box in the lower-right corner? There are only two Axiom products that end in a 3....
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
So 10,000 posts = free Axiom stuff?
Wow, I think I'll get started on that automated bot script. Nevermind work for the day, there's serious business to attend to! It shall draw random sentences of praise for Axiom products and post them. Everywhere. Mwuuu haa haa haa!
Congrats on the milestone! I can only hope to achieve your posty greatness.
Man... Lucky guy! You are now (at the time of this posting) 5 away from 10,000 and I am 5 away from 1500...
I guess I have too many hobbies and can't focus all of my efforts to one site to ever get free anything from anyone...
probably ran out of small boxes for the T-shirts
I wonder if the 'prize' is for just the first person to hit 10,000 posts, the rest of us will get an Axiom Audio plaque.
Just what are Noreen and Amie working on for the first person to cross 10,000 posts on the message boards?
Unfortunately Jason, u r right.
If they gave out an Axiom Audio Plaque to the rest of us that would be great too.
I'm optimistic. The prizes will get bigger.
Just for fun, I've calculated some statistics.
I became a member of this forum in April, 2003. That was 62 months ago. 10000 posts / 62 months = 161.29 posts per month, or approx. 5.29 posts per day.
It doesn't seem that ridiculous when you look at it that way, does it?

Wait, that's not right...
Grody pastiness?
No, that's Ken.
Ghosty Grapeness?
Toasty Lateness?
It doesn't seem that ridiculous when you look at it that way, does it?
Not considering the value of the content.
Grossly postless. That's JP.
No, JP = Jokingly Professional

(damn, a crossed out 4 looks like a normal 4.
If they gave out an Axiom Audio Plaque to the rest of us that would be great too.
You know, that's actually something that I wish Axiom really would do. They ought to include one in every 'system' sell. Or at least make them available for a minumum price. Call me silly, but I'm proud of my Axiom setup and like to show it off.
I actually have one. I bought it from
some guy over on eBay a couple of years ago for like $10. He had them for just about every audio gear manufacturer. Absolutely not any sort of authorized thing, I'm sure. It looks pretty good from a distance, but it's just a cheap piece of black plastic with mylar stickers cut out in the shape of the Axiom logo. I put it out on the times when I've got company coming over specifically to hear the stereo, or on the one time that I've 'officially demoed' my system. Makes it seem like something 'special', anyway.
I'd love to have a nicer looking Axiom one to hang on the wall behind my system. Just for kicks.
That has to be like the dream of every company. Having customers that actually want to BUY advertising to hang in their own homes.
(damn, a crossed out 4 looks like a normal 4.
Not if you look closely.
I will start the Congratulations early on the 10,000th post as it will be happennig this morning or afternoon depending on your time frame. What you have achieved is a monumental waste of time....er, your posts have helped an untold hundreds, uh, tens, maybe a few of people on this forum, keep up the good work.
If Mojo had not had a change of lifestyle, he might have been fast enough to reach 10,000 first!
That has to be like the dream of every company. Having customers that actually want to BUY advertising to hang in their own homes.
I have done many auditions(5 in the past 3 months alone) and I think it would be great to have an Axiom plaque up on the wall just to show off.
If they gave out an Axiom Audio Plaque to the rest of us that would be great too.

I second that! I'd love to hang one up so all of my friends and family can see it when entering down in my basement to my home theater room. Congrats on the upcoming 10,000th pmbuko!
A plaque would be very nice indeed.
I current use my Axiom Jacket as advertisement in the entrance.
All I have is a bunch of MDF boxes with nice vinyl covers with discreet little plastic Axiom tags on them.
You're so modest. I'm just replying to get this post out of the way.
Now I absolutely cannot reply to anything else until after I've drafted and posted my masterpiece. Oh, the pressure! I need some meds, doc!
Gee, I can have a lot of fun with this one. I feel like I can fly!
EDIT: No I'm not! (see below)
This means, you all realize, that he's merely going to keep editing this post to avoid posting the last one.
Now that you have built up you upcoming 10K, it better be REALLY good!
After that, you next target will be 100K. It may take a while so savor this one!
Now is the time to tempt Peter with lots of open lines for innuendo that he could normally not resist. He he.
Yeah, last night I saw Peter drinking a Bud Light. He gave me all his Belgian beer and said it didn't do it for him any more.
Told you he was just going to edit old posts perpetually. (see above)
And I see that he went to the well again, taking animated .gifs from growabrain.com
They have a nice wikipedia bouncing ball that I thought would make a good avatar.
Are you sure that's annoying enough to be your avatar?
Man, that Freud, he's always staring at me. Aaaaaah! The eyes are following me! Make him stop! Make him stop!
<tirade included to add value to this post>
Are you sure that's annoying enough to be your avatar?
*sobs uncontrollably*
I'm taking my bouncing ball and going home!
Geez, looks like you're going for 10000 before Peter does, too...
I can't believe we almost forgot the Axiom plaque! Here's Kevin pulling it down. Lots of bubble wrap!
Love the M80 on the wall behind him. I'm sure that's been mentioned before, but it looks so... odd. In a cool way, of course!
I feel undeniably inadequate when compared to Peter (but that goes without saying)... oh and his post numbers are impressive too. I can't wait to see what he is working on and also the surprise from Axiom.
I bet he's composing a work of art for this. Expect it to be at least twice as good as his 5000th post.
Yeah, we talked about compiling "pmbuko's greatest bits", but we couldn't find any.
Just read this whole post and I'm exited like I was getting a prize.
Super nice touch Axiom!!!!
But only 1.25x as good as his 8000th post.
I said "at least"!
Well, dang. I was going to quote his first post, but it looks like it's not available.
This is exciting. Kind of like watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve.
9997....9998....9999...... ????????
PS. Another fan of Belgian Beer? Sweet. I raise a Chimay to a fellow Peter.
That didn't sound right.....
It probably had to be removed for explicit content.
Peter can still check in via the shoutbox right? It doesn't count as a post. I think it's great though that he has gone silent. It builds the suspense and anticipation, like a big announcement from apple.
'Round these here parts, there's a lot of Belgian beer fans. Although I still haven't tried Chimay. I really enjoyed a Corsendonk Abbey Ale I had a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where I got it, and I'm not finding that particular one on their website.
I'm not waiting around here for Peter any more.
Have fun, guys. I'll check in after.
Hey, when did 10,000 get snuck in?
Yeah where is it? Did it increment when he posted a PM or something? Or is it Axiom just testing to make sure the counter actualy supports 5 digits?
I see 10,000 too, but no post??
Peter, come in off of the ledge, it's OK, just go back and post the "Yes" comment and take it from there ...
I think the best part is reading this thread along with the shout box - the drama and humor is classic!!
I haven't heard from him for 12 minutes. I'm getting worried.
It's probably Amie that created the 10000th as Purolator passes around this time in Dwight and she HAD to ship the boxed basebal cap!
So the 10000 post, which I deleted right after submitting it, basically said "The Union album was the first I'd ever heard Yes because my sister had the cassette in her car one summer and played it endlessly."
So thanks again, JP, for being the anti-kaopectate for my posting problem.
That's a bit of an anticlimax. But so it goes in the online world...
Congrats Peter, a milestone that I'll probably never reach. Now will there be a new Peter for the next 10,000?
I know I'm in the right job.
People tell me things.
They find themselves talking and revealing their innermost secrets and then ... BAM!!! ... it hits them, I've ruined their lives by screwing up their post counts, and they hang their heads in grief.
Wait, that's not how a session usually goes ...
If that is how a session goes, I'm surprised you have any patients at all!
I'm curious as to how many patients have a second session
But I'm sure there is a never ending supply of candidates.
I run all my patients through a Rorschach test using all my old avatars...
If any of them say, "Hey, you're that medic8r guy!" then I give them the Vulcan nerve pinch and leave them downtown outside the public mental health clinic.
Helps to have a plan.
Pity the Vulcan nerve pinch doesn't actually do anything.
You're not doing it right.
Or maybe my patients know better than to resist?!
News flash: So my wife just told me that she knows about my surprise. Somebody has been doing her homework.
And I had no idea. Very sneaky.
Cue the dramatic prairie dog!
Just what are Noreen and Amie working on for the first person to cross 10,000 posts on the message boards?
I'm guessing a straightjacket for the person nuts enough to have the time to post 10,000 posts.
Kick ass there Peter.
Where DO you find the time? In between the napping and the eating and of course, everyone's favorite past time, breathing.
You know, a NASCAR-style jacket would be cool, with patches, embroidery, etc.
Découpage. Now there's a word you don't hear from a guy trying to maintain an image. Does your bed have a duvet, perchance?
And the front hall has a foyer.
You know, a NASCAR-style jacket would be cool, with patches, embroidery, etc.
The day I see an Axiom logo on a NASCAR is the day I burn it all in the back yard.
No, I am not a fan. And no, I know this wasn't what you were talking about. And yes, I shouldn't change the topic.
Because thread-jacking is not allowed here. Stay on topic, people!
Stay on target. STAY ON TARGET!
So Peter, now that you know your wife knows do you have any guesses on what it is? You don't have to tell us yet- but just wondering if the pieces all fell into place for you?
He doesn't want to guess. He wants it to be a surprise.
All I know is that Ken and my wife were co-conspirators in whittling down the selection to what they think I would want most.
I'd like to think I'm in good hands.
Unless you end up with an Axiom vacuum cleaner
My wife already bought me a Dyson for my birthday last year.
Love the M80 on the wall behind him. I'm sure that's been mentioned before, but it looks so... odd. In a cool way, of course!
I was thinking the same thing. Thats one heck of a set of workshop speakers!
Well, last picture from me
Here's Kevin, sending the surprise your way!
Thanks to Ken and your wife for both keeping our surprise!!
Which Axiom staffer is on the calendar in the background?
You mean you didn't get the 'Girls of Axiom' catalog at New Year's?
You mean you didn't get the 'Girls of Axiom' catalog at New Year's?
I only got "Big Al's of the Warehouse World" calendar.
Who knew there were so many Al's talented at packing and carrying boxes while looking sexy the entire time?
You know, it's the little things like this - taking time out to recognize and thank members of its forum - and taking pictures along the way
- that really make me appreciate even more what a fine company Axiom is. It really is a great little family.
We should all get gifts for having to read Peter's posts.
Bren R.
You haven't moved him to your ignore list after all these years?
Congrats to the shareholder in the making
You know, it's the little things like this - taking time out to recognize and thank members of its forum - and taking pictures along the way

I totally agree. I'm finding it fascinating to see the pix of the Axiom staff. I'm eagerly awaiting the Axiom video that was mentioned a few posts ago.
Very cool to see the people that make our wonderful speakers!
Ya Know? If Axiom deleted useless posts it wouldn't be necessary to go through this guessing game
.
.............but then I'd only have 2 posts
.
Congratulations, Peter. Whatever it is, you deserve it..............
(Particularly if it's explosive. insert rim shot here) Seriously, when I first stumbled upon this motely crew, Peter's sparkling wit was one of the many reasons I stuck around. So, those of you who can't stand me can blame Peter for your misery.
(Wha' the? Did I watch a six hour Henny Youngman video marathon last night or somethin') Sincere congratulations, Peter. All my best, to you and yours!
I gotta share something about that last post. I couldn't come up with Henny Youngman's name (another senior moment). I could picture his face, hear his voice, hear his timing and delivery. Rodney Dangerfield? No. Shecky Green? No. DRAT! Now how the heck do I search for his name. "Comedians?" Nah, too general. "Comics?" Same problem. Can't think of any movies he was in that I could look up on IMDB.com. So what did I type into the search box to find him????????

"Take my wife. Please"
Peter's sparkling wit was one of the many reasons I stuck around
And then when you met me, you were wondering if I was really the same person.
No meeting you merely confirmed my impression that you were a bright, articulate, young man, and I liked you for it.
(Opposites attract, ya know )
All I know is that Ken and my wife were co-conspirators in whittling down the selection to what they think I would want most.
*and*
My wife already bought me a Dyson for my birthday last year.
I feel your pain.
You haven't moved him to your ignore list after all these years?
Who is this peter bloke you all are talking about?
Another clue! I checked the FedEx tracking page and it says the package is 18 pounds. Hmmm....
A pair of M22's weigh 16 pounds, with packaging I would guess 18 pounds
I think they are the Outdoor speakers (a pair of them).
I don't think my wife would have picked the Algonquins.
If I had to guess, I'd say W3s, but I just don't know.
You know, sometimes those weight estimates are completely wrong...
My thoughts exactly when Peter posted the shipping weight earlier. I remember tracking my Axioms and the weights were completly off. Doesn't mean it's so in this case, but it could- Ken is toying with us all!
maybe the weight is wrong and its an ep1200 prototype?
Alright, the tension is klling me...
I can't beleive that I've checked back five times in the last two days hoping to see what Peter was getting. Does that make me a sad case or just vicariously anxious?
Whatever it is, it's certainly a very kind and gratuitous gesture from a company that truly owes him nothing. (I mean that in a good way).
I know what he's get-ting, I know what he's get-ting... Neener neener ha ha!
I have an idea! Ken, make a thread titled "Peter don't look here" and tell us all what it is! Surely he won't look...
IF you really wanted to have fun you would post the thread anyway, and once everyone gets there it just says:
"I know what he's get-ting, I know what he's get-ting... Neener neener ha ha! "
Just PM me with what he is getting....I won't tell. It's more fun when someone else can help tease everyone else.
Just pm all of us. Then EVERYONE but Peter will know. What could be better than that?
pmbuko,
Congrats on your "high number of postings" (fcapio)
I hope you enjoy your Major Award.
I may be headed for a forum milestone myself: Forum regular with the least number of posts.
If not that, maybe: Most annoying Avatar.
Larry
You know, I think he needs a new title now that he is over 10k posts.
Sir Peter of the Axiomites
Cheif poster and speaker washer
...
When I get the gift, I'll make sure to post about it. A week later.
Nahhh. I'll try to be timely and include pics. Maybe I'll have my wife do a video of the unboxing with my genuine reaction.

LOL - Probably be a printout of all 10,000 posts
Congrats
No kidding. Or, it could be a the tractor-fed paper printout of all the shout box shouts.
Yeah, but Peter doesn't shout all that much. The printout of all his posts will be much more appropriate.
Oops, I gave it away.
Speaking of tractor-fed...
When I was in junior high, my teacher was printing out a poster using some banner program on an Apple IIgs. I noticed a typo but didn't tell her. She had typed "Congratulatinos!"
Of course, she only saw the error after the banner was almost done printing. And that took a while.
I still feel a little guilty.
Nobody shouts that much because JP bogarts the box all day!
She had typed "Congratulatinos!"
Multiple choice / Twofer Thursday:
A) Aren't Congratulatinos the mariachi band that played Negative Orange's senior prom?
B) Sounds like what Ned Flanders said when a family from Guadalajara bought the house next door.
Just curious, Sean, either of those on the vibe of your bad joke?
Just curious, Sean, either of those on the vibe of your bad joke?
Nope.
omg. OMG. OMF'inG! It's on the truck for delivery!!!
A) Aren't Congratulatinos the mariachi band that played Negative Orange's senior prom?
I don't know, but I bet CV has the light blue tux and giant sombrero to prove it.
Interesting side note: when I typed prove, my finger hit the "b" instead of "v". Made myself laugh.
Ah, that's refreshing.
"I lob 'em up dere, Sean hits 'em outta da park ..."
I never know how you're gonna finish it, either. The anticipation is half the fun.
omg. OMG. OMF'inG! It's on the truck for delivery!!!
So what is it? I mean that shipping info was updated 3 hours ago. Clearly it was set for 10 AM delivery, and it is now 11:06 AM your time!!!
Delivered!!!
Wife called. 4 boxes!!! And she's not telling me what they are! Gahhhhhhh!
Man, 4 plaques is just overkill.
4 Peter gremlins is just right, though.
I love your wife! How great that she won't spill! Ian would totally do that to me too.
How long has it been since you got the 'Axiom flu' anyway? Shouldn't you be at home sleeping it off?
wow! 4 boxes?!?
Man, and I thought that the wait was bad when i KNEW what was comming. I can't imagine the anticipation one would have if it was all a great big mystery!
Geez... A baseball cap and THREE t-shirts?? I'm jealous now!
4 boxes? The plot thickens...
And I'm too busy at work to go home.
Geez... A baseball cap and THREE t-shirts?? I'm jealous now!
Oh no... it's only one cap... in a
Revell kit. And not one of those girlie Snap-Tite ones either.
Bren R.
That brings back memories... My brother and I discovered that plastic model cement -- in addition to killing brain cells in poorly ventilated areas -- eats through styrofoam like nobody's business.
Well, the stuff does work by melting plastic.
I can't believe I've visited this thread about 10 times already today in anticipation... It's like I'm the one getting the surprise!
I hope it's something great pm... You deserve it!

This is getting a little silly...
Ditto, if Peter doesn't get home soon perhaps Amie can PM the 7120 other members with what he got.
OK, people, he's on his way home. Get ready.
Hmm, it seems he's getting this thing called a "ditto." What is this? I don't see it on the products page. . .
SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT IT IS!!!!!
I don't really even care, but for some reason, I HAVE TO KNOW. and NOW.
Alright, got that out of my system. I'm cool now. But seriously, wtf is it?
It's...
It's...
It's...
Monty Python's Flying Cir-cussssss!
No wonder he hit 10,000 posts first. He is "too busy at work to go home" and yet still manages to post messages here on the forums...
He's GOT to be home by now...
Well, he's busy wiring up his new top secret Axiom LCD TV along with the A875-5 and the M1000s.
Hi guys. Gee, it's crowded in here.
So it was actually hell getting home today. More cars between me and my house than I've ever seen before.
I walked in the door, kissed my wife goodbye -- she has an evening meeting -- and witnessed the glory of Axiom's generosity sitting just inside the door.
I am completely floored. Never in 10,000 posts did I imagine I'd be rewarded for
goofing off being
a nerd myself. Amie, Noreen, Kevin, Ian, and anyone else at Axiom involved in the decision to send me this equipment, I can't say thank you enough. I am so close to speechless it's not even funny.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have four boxes to rip in to.
COME ON!!!! You posted 7 minutes ago. Plenty of time!!!!!
By the way, my wife has the video camera and the still camera in the car, so all I have is this crappy cell phone pic. It really doesn't capture details well at all...
(The intrepid among you will be able to "hack" that image into greater clarity....)
It's fun being on the other side of this.
Ah, the new "Mosaic" series speakers!
And now I know what the other 2 boxes are. Heh heh heh... Congrats, dude.
Well, since Ken noticed we're watching. . . .
Cheers to Peter! Axiom dinner table - Jeff with the Caesar on the left, Ian in front, Tom at the back, then Lawrence, then Peter and Debbie. Amie on Camera and Message Boards on the Fridge! Cheers Peter!
No fair! You guys get to drink at work.
Uh, are you hiring?
Amie - what are you drinking?

This thread gets my vote for the longest most drawn out wait for a revelation in the history of the Axiom forums.
We thrive on never delivering.
It is limited though; none before 10am unless it is a special occasion.
I'm juggling kids while I do it, so I've only opened two of the boxes. The Real Wood Burled Walnut High Gloss Audiobytes are absolutely gorgeous! (I won't bother with a pic until I track down the digital camera.)

Does getting to work on time qualify as a special occasion?
OMG! I can't stand the suspense! Ian and the gang, you have a lifetime buyer... Period!
Oh, and the speakers you make sound good too.
ok, no more suspense for the other folks:
Two maple QS8s, a pair of Audiobytes, and an EP0 sub. I now have a complete Axiom 5.1 system and a complete 2.1 system.
Now all I can hope is that my wife doesn't need me to do tackle the to-do list until everything finds a home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
(I promise to post pics before too long.)
When it happens to Tom, yes.
That's awesome! Congratulations, Peter!
And bravo, Axiom! An extremely nice gesture on your part.
All laughing and kidding aside... Peter, congrats on the gifts! You have made this board (in the short time I have posted) full of posts...
Heh! Just kidding! You really are a great contributer to the board and deserve this very generous gift.
Ian and the gang... Better sell Toms gifts while you can!
But in all seriousness, I'm at a loss for words. Very generous, and very fitting for the company that you are! You should all be very proud of what you do, and who you are.
Sincerest Regards,
Steve
When it happens to Tom, yes.
Very nice! And besides the pics. we will need a review, enjoy!
Congrats again Peter. I was half right. On seing the first picture, I guessed Vasallo audiobytes and ep0. Although, if Axiom was closer to you, they could have been painting your car in the booth.
Did anyone besides me notice that the only person in that picture drinking beer was Debbie?
I did! And was very impressed!
Did anyone besides me notice that the only person in that picture drinking beer was Debbie?
Who's chasing the Cognac with what looks suspiciously like a Petite Sarah? I like that guy...
And is that stemware Reidel? At work?? Damn...Where do I send a resumee?
Congrats Peter. You now have 2 very nice (and complete) systems there. I can't wait to see the high-res pics and hear your impressions on the new gear.
I think this is a very neat story all around and I am happy to have just been a part of watching it. It's not often (if ever) you see such generosity from a corporation, nor such devotion from its customers. And of course they go hand in hand. Axiom's employees are top notch. The exceptional level of customer care they provide is second to none, and I feel this attracts customers that believe in the same principles. The kind of people that value service, integrity, honesty, and friendship; even more than any physical product. It is certainly no accident that such a fine group of individuals has gathered here. It is Axiom's service model that has made it possible. Most other companies don't get the concept here, and it is a pity.
I applaud Peter for reaching this milestone. And applaud Axiom for doing what they do so well. Thank you all for your friendship.
The Beatles sum it up best...
‘And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make’
Axiom does a wonderful job for its loyal customers and community. It is very much appreciated.
Hey, and the speakers sound great, too!
The Audiobyte + EP0 system =
Shockingly good sound. I heard Ken's without an EP0 soon after he received his and thought they sounded good, but with the sub in the mix they are a completely different animal.
Wow.
Congrats! I remember the day when Peter and I were neck and neck with our posting. Yeah...it was a long while ago! LOL!
Time to get back on the horse, Craig. Hope things are going ok for you these days.
Wow, truly the most generous, customer oriented company I have ever heard of! One more reason to love axiom...
congrats Peter!
Wow - the gang's all here. I can't remember the last time the Grand Poo-bah made a message board appearance - truly a sign that something special has occurred or that the end of days is nigh.
Either way, them's some sweet digs, P.
p.s - don't listen to those naysayers who complain about the quality of your posts. It's obviously the quantity that matters...
Well as one who is more of a lurker than a poster I say congratulations to Peter. Congratulations go out to everyone at Axiom for being such a great company with great products at reasonable prices and even better customer service!
I was right about the Audiobytes(do I get a set for being 1/2 correct
), but I am astounded they threw in QS8s to round out his system. Well done Axiom and Peter, Congratulations.
@ Zarak - I had a beautiful Cab Sauv that Lawrence brought - @ mdrew, they're Speiglau - @ everyone else, Deb is a self-professed 'beer baby'!
Kudos to Axiom on recognizing Peter and his ramblings with some well deserved gifts
Congrats Peter.
Congrats! Very nice on axioms part!
We want more pics!!!
truly a sign that something special has occurred or that the end of days is nigh
Just in case its end of days, better grab a cold one and put your favourite tunes on quick!
Peter. Quit goofing off and listening to tune on those audiobytes. We wan't high res closups!
Deb is a self-professed 'beer baby'!
She needs to hang out with us more often, then. We'll steer her right.
Ah, so the "3" in the previous picture was actually an "8" fiendishly partially concealed by Amie to mislead us. Congratulations, Peter; enjoy!
Peter, you lucky SOB, congratulations and enjoy! The audiobytes look sweet online and I can only imagine they are that much sweeter live and in person.
Let me know when I can come up for that audition!
Actually, I think that box was a total fake out. It was obviously (to me, who has one sitting outside slowly falling apart) an EP350v3 box.
I knew about the Qs, but the Audiobytes were a surprise. Of course, the boxes tipped me off since I have a set of those boxes sitting around the back room.
Wow what a great gift, congrats to you and hats off to Axiom on the great support and PR
Congrats on 10k and what a nice gesture from Axiom. They must have felt the need to do something for someone that has close to 5% of all posts on the boards!
(total posts on the board at 211813 as of this message)
I thought for sure that was an EP600 box with only a custom Axiom computer mouse inside.
So while anticipating my wife's exit from the bath (TMI?) I'm spending some quality time with the Audiobytes, which have supplanted my 10 year-old Yamaha computer speakers. I loved those Yamahas -- despite their plastic cabinets and lack of heft.
But now, there's a new game in town. I've been skipping around through my music collection and these speakers reveal the same nuances as my M22s, only in a compact package.
I'm now playing a Josh Ritter track, "Baby, That's Not All", which contains a warbly electronic piano that is mixed so it sounds as if it's coming from directly right and left of your head. The Yamahas could never really duplicate that surround effect as the M22s could, but the Audiobytes are right there.
Vocals are faithful. Spoken voice sounds like the person is right there. And did I mention how gorgeous the finish is? Maybe I'll snap a pic.... No, I hear the tub draining...
Congrats on the gift, Axiom is an incredible company.
Excellent! Very nice gift. Audiobytes with EP0 are really good. How come you did not have QS-8??? Shame!
So while anticipating my wife's exit from the bath (TMI?)
With us, do you have to ask?
I mean, who hasn't seen Peter's wife naked?
Show of hands?
I haven't yet...I guess I'm the only one that's been missing out!
Wow, Awesome gift from Axiom, WOW. Makes me want to get me post count up to 20,000...man that would make me go animmaaall.

No doubt Rob- I feel the same! By the way, I really like your avatar- especially fitting for a drummer.
Well done, to Ian, Amie and everyone at Axiom.
Always going that extra step.
Bren R.
Congrats, Peter - I'd be more envious right now, but my M60s are on a FedEx truck on their way to me today.
Whoo hoo! That's good news, Adam. Enjoy those puppies.
What finish did you get? I can't remember if you said so already. . .
They're Maple. So really,
I should've gotten those QS8s, since they match my speakers.
Riiiiiight.
Now your TV's going to look even smaller.
C'mon! Unbox those things and fire 'em up!!!
A better picture would have been of them unboxed
Congrats and enjoy.
I thought that " the size doesn't matter"
That's just something your wife tells you.
Well, Madeleine Peyroux is singing in my living room at the moment.
I had to check I wasn't in a surround mode when the piano came in - it sounds a good 5 feet in front of the other instruments. Sweet.
I'd say I'm a satisfied customer.
I'll start a separate thread so I won't steal Peter's thunder.
I hear Peter has a lot of thunder after Mexican food.
Mexican food (or any food, really) is not required for Peter to bring the thunder.
If you can't laugh at yourself...
Oh i bet those M60s really fill that room now.
If you can't laugh at yourself...
Sometimes it's good to be misquoted.
A day late as usual. WOW! Congratulations Peter. To Ian, Amie, and all at Axiom, bravo for doing something so nice.
Jack, you missed the party!!
We saved some flat soda for you.
Don't forget the semi-stale, semi-soggy cake!
I will gratefully consume it all. Sounds like last night's dinner.
Congrats Peter. Hard earned and well deserved. And thanks to the Axiom crew. A truly magnaminous gesture that reinforces why we love coming here as much as we love the products.
And to think I registered here a month before Peter and am only ~9,700 posts behind...
Rich
Yes, congrats to Peter!!
As others have stated, another stellar example for Axiom customer service!!!
As probably the longest standing, still active member, had I known there was a prize......I would have hit it long before most of you joined!!! lol
Yeah, right, Mike.
Yeah, you are right...I don't have that much time...or that much to say!!
Maybe I need my own blog....
"Peter's post of the hour"
Axiom Could make your own forum!
Maybe I need my own blog....
I haven't blogged since April, instead posting here where people actually read what I'm saying. Not that they want to, but I post in otherwise interesting threads.
Consider us your captive audience.
At least, that's how I think of everyone. . .
It's like shooting messages at fish in a barrel.
I can't believe I read this whole freaking thread.
It's ironic that Axiom continues to amaze us by far exceeding expectations, while Peter, well, he posts a lot.
Another good zinger from Tom.
Funny you guys talk about blogs vs the boards. I started the "J.P.'s Office" thread as a pseudoblog, but haven't really given it much attention. There's potential there, though.
We could all start threads like that: CV's Corner, Sean's Space, Tom's Territory, etc.
That was a good one, Tom.
Gratz on the new speakers!
I'm way behind on this one but I do want to add my appreciation to Axiom for showing support for their loyal customers.
Nice touch!!
I just realized that this thread is actually 29 pages long.
If peter keeps it going it just might surpass the "what are you listening to tonight thread".
By then you'll be talking about pmbuko's 20,000 post surprise
Well, he is posting quite a lot now... shouldn't take long.
