Thanks Sean, for the reminder to kick off another month of avatar fun. I'll keep throwing 'em out there if you guys keep playing along.

So, as planned in the Great Muppet Thread of 2008, it's comic book character month! Marvel, DC, and all the rest! I'd say that newspaper comic strips are for another month, so no Garfields or Snoopys, please.

I think the Tick fits with the Cookie Monster paradigm, so there I am.
I think this is a good charecter for one who wathes more than participates.
Can't... resist... must... change AVATAR!!
I'm resisting. Nothing personal. I think it's fun and all, but I'm not a comic guy and I wanted to give JP something to scribble in his journal.
OK, it's on.
JP, you're still Jabba.
OK, Autolink button wasn't working from MediaFire, for those of you watching my edits.
I'm out.
Your not out, I recognize the Evil Spectrometer from Issue number 13 of "Spiderman Verses Alan Lofte".
Ken is the Spectre - cool. I thought it was Green Lantern at first. Now, I can't make out what Murph is, and I'm not that familiar with DG56. Help me out, fellas.
The clue to mine is in my signature. I do need to find one that fits the Avatar square better.

Here is the full size.

OK, Murph, just saw your sig. I thought that might have been Galactus' funny helmet.
I should really know more comic book characters than I do.
I don't stand a chance unless they're Silver Age DC characters.

BTW, although I've got Spectre, it's the Hal Jordan Spectre. So it's kind of Green Lantern.
All I know in any detail is Marvel, 1980 - 1995.

Anybody want to buy 9000 comics?
I realize I may be cheating with this, but this guy was probably in a comic book at least once.... He's hearing no evil, though, so I thought it quite fitting. \:\)
Your post count is 10666! Agh!

I just saw a patient who was born 6-16-66. Agh!

No joke. At least she wasn't born ten days earlier.

Is that why you need to start a new office?

I missed it by one day, the operating room was busy or so I have been told, my parents wanted it 06-06-'66.
I've got Snoopy and I'm sticking with him. \:\/
Rebellion in the works!

<------ This is as close as I'm gonna get. I don't do comic books (sorry Craig!)

Hard to make out but it’s the “Haunted Tank.”
I am what I am, and that's all that I am.

Yeah, he may get a kick out of this one!
I'm not a big comic book character guy, but I'll pick Ironman from Marvel...

I never got into comic books. This is as close as I'll get.
The devil you say!
In light of my recent taco eating binge I've chosen the infamous Matter-Eater Lad.

Beware! *nom nom nom*
Ooh, Silver Age LSH!
I think Spiff provided a link to him years ago.
Well, I'm game:

you look fat.
Even though we don't share the religious fanatism, I'm going with Nightcrawler... Kurt "I am NOT a boggie!" Wagner.

Bren R.
sure you don't mean phat?
I like the comic books Shawn reads.
Yeah, that's an impressive artist.

At least good with an airbrush...
THERE'S a theme for next month... Hot Chicks!
Man, newcomers will think they've found Heaven on Earth.
Unless they're women...
I don't think that's a good theme.

I have visited other forums where there is a very high percentage of hot chick avatars, and honestly, I think it can be a little offensive and undermines the quality of the conversation.
What if we keep the bouncing animated gifs to a minimum?

I agree with you, actually. How about hot dogs instead?
I totally agree with you, Tom. It also makes the forum denizens look about 15.

Everyone knows we're at least 17 here.

Ooooh! Do tell!
hotchickavatarforums.com
Ok, ok, I'm sorry if I've offended anyone.

Got it. No hot chicks.

Let's try Wonder Woman:

Huh... is that where the expression "shooting yourself in the foot" comes from?
Euw euw euw!!! Out of my brain!! aaaaahhhhhh!!

No, Shawn, I'm not a humorless so-and-so, and you did NOT offend me. \:\) I totally dig hot chicks. I just thought that an organized campaign to maximize the number of Axiom hot chick avatars might not feel inclusive and appreciative to Amie, Noreen, Mary and, um, give me a minute...

Unless it was done, you know, tastefully.

J.P.'s alter ego, SpeakerGrrl.

Bren R.
Didn't get into comic books like my dad did, but this is one of my favorites.

Scott
Cool! All we need is a Hal Jordan Parallax, and we're set! Of course, we could get other GL Corpsmembers on, too!
Hey look. I'm the invisible man!!
Laughing silently at that one, Fred. . .
my favorite comic book character is def. jessica alba.... err I mean the Invisible Woman

I hate when Jessica turns invisible.
How about Arm Fall Off Boy?
Chess, he's all yours!!
Someone has to choose this:

Ooooh! can she be my girlfriend?? Actually, she's a little too young. Is her mom hot?
The scary thing is, I remember that scene from the LSH comics.

Too WHAT????? You're kidding, right.

Scott
Absolutely not.
No comic book character, but I did just rent Iron Man tonight. Since it's the playoffs and the Phils are in it this year, I'm using October as baseball avatar month instead!
