We will be taking off tomorrow and not sure how often I'll be able to check the forums. Hope you and your families have a great Thanksgiving...Randy
Right back at you Randy, wishing the best for you and your loved ones ... I've got the turkey in the brine solution and it will be ready for the fryer sometime tomorrow mid day.
Have a great holiday and drive safe big guy!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
I'm hungry right now. Thinking about the feast tomorrow is making me drool.
Happy Turkey day all. Have fun, be safe, eat lot's and remember all that you are thankful for.
I'll be up in NE Iowa Ed, keep those Axioms turned up so I can hear them on the farm.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We are smoking a turkey to take to the in laws.
Oh, I forgot to add--we're having a
Turducken! It sounded strange when mom told us about it on Halloween, but now I'm looking forward to it.
Happy Thanksgiving! We are having the big dinner here tommorrow afternoon, all the relatives are rolling in tonight so we can start the drinking early.
I would like to try that some day.
I'll let you know how it tastes. I've only had duck once at a Chinese food restaurant. Apart from the almond sauce, I remember it being rich and oily. Tasty, but quickly filling.
Sounds like a plan! Over here, it's not thanksgiving... but the drinking has started early anyway!
Happy thanksgiving to the US folks!
Tame duck is quite rich and if not cooked right can get down right greasy. When cooked right it is super good imo.

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw the post title.
Damn, now I'm hungry again.
Sean, I heard about turdukin the first time a year ago. I would love to try it some day.
Happy thankgiving all. I am lucky enough to celebrate it (my second) thanks to my employer.
Happy Givethanksing!
Frankly, I'm looking more forward to tonight's dinner (beef & bean chili, even if you Texans wouldn't call it such) more than I am tomorrow. I'm not a fan of turkey.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and remember all the things we do in fact have to be thankful for.
And Ken, eat the turkey; it's a moral obligation. One of the things that you can be thankful for is that the obligation only arises once a year.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I burned the turkey to smithereens last year after undercooking it at first, this year we ordered a smoked turkey which my friend tells me is foolproof, certainly looks as if it will be a lot easier even though my wife wants to prepare a ridiculous number sidedishes.
I guess as I carry dual citizenship I should be tossing in a turkey myself, naw too much work, I'll wait till Christmas then it is a ham and a turkey.
Hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving and be sure to eat a plate full for me.
I guess as I carry dual citizenship
Calgary AND Edmonton?
Bite your tongue, Edmonton, sheesh I'll stick where the Grey cup presently resides, thank you very much
Thank you very much! I had just forgotten that my city's team has now both records for most cup's appearances in a decade (6) and also the record for most losses with FIVE chockings!
If you wrap that Turducken in bacon, it can become a Bacturducken!
The West is best, what can I say.
That's why Edmonton played for East finalist! Only in Canada...

*drool*
Those ship with their own defibrillator.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and remember all the things we do in fact have to be thankful for.
Is it wrong that I've always taken Thanksgiving for granted?

Toronto and Hamilton really didn't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. WIth the crossover format it is more of a, top 6 teams make the playoffs, scenario, which is better for the league IMO.
Happy Black Friday Eve everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! There is so much to be thankful for!
Wishing you all a peaceful and serene Thanksgiving, full of love, family and friends, and good food.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Hello All,
I gobble, gobble, gobbled, and now I'm the one who's stuffed!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Larry

We had some friends bring a Turducken for dinner once. I thought it was pretty nasty. Greasy and kind of gamey. Of course, I'm sure the quality varies tremendously depending on where the Turducken comes from and how it was cooked. YMMV.
Heck, I'll be on the forum more over the Thanksgiving holiday, as an
escape from the relatives....
But yes, a very happy Thanksgiving to all of my Axiom friends.
I don't think I'm a big fan of duck. Definitely a gamey taste to it. The rest of the Turducken was okay, although it didn't blow me away. Loaded up on mashed potatoes and dressing instead.
Duck gamy tasting, you boys don't eat much wild game do ya. Tame duck really needs to be cooked on a rack so the drippings will not be in constant contact with the meat. We stuff ours with cut up oranges and basted with the juice of the oranges.
That sounds good, cooking it that way. Duck may be something I have to acquire a taste for. I won't say it was bad, just different.
Duck breast. The other red meat.
Man, I could have used that chuck for my new Jerky recipe.
Looks mighty tasty Rick.. nice route 66 postcard
I know ... everybody can come down to our house for the winter and Rick can do all of the cooking!
I'll bring the barley pop and jerky... got both Rick's postcards today, as well as SRoode's and DG for the dairy state.
ps: Hey Rick1, it is Jacob, Jason is from a horror movie.
lol
thanks everyone
That makes you Rick2 then doesn't it.
Nope, I'm Rick1 ... I'm a whole year+ older than that young buck other Rick, respect for the elders is a prerequisite, right?
Jacob loved the Route 66 card Widster, he said that is from the movie Cars dad.
So far he has loved all the cards he has received...
ps: your both my elders.
He was probably too busy smoking his meat.
Hey Rick2 don't you worry about my meat
I betcha Wid helped 'em design and build Route 66 ... probably one of the first road and bridge guys on the very beginning leg.
I bet.
damn pot holes.
How did you know
I do road work but that's just a tad before my time. I think it was 1922 when Rt 66 was built through town.
ps: Hey Rick1, it is Jacob, Jason is from a horror movie. \:\) lol
Rename that boy
I think it was 1922 when Rt 66 was built through town.
Just sayin'.
I would say something nasty but I respect my elders
Careful there junior.
