Thanks to some wind in Florida the Family and I were able to see a rare treat of the shuttle landing at Edwards AFB this afternoon, a beautiful day and great fun for the family on a day we had nothing planned.

Way to go Michael ... the shuttle landing is a spectacular event, lot's of wind, lot's of rain and lot's of clouds kept the shuttle from landing at the Cape today.

Being able to spend an incredible amount of time fishing the Indian River/Mosquito Lagoon area very near the shuttle landing facility we've seen several landings from our boat while fishing and it was also fun to watch the astronauts practice their gliding to approaches and landings in the Gulfstream business size jets, they looked as though they were in a vertical dive.

Since we moved to Vero Beach from Orlando a few years ago we don't get the opportunity to view too many landings, but we do still get an amazing view of the lift off.

Rick, I would love to see the lift off some day, I was told by some other people out there today that it's really cool watching them piggyback the shuttle back to the Cape, if they do it at a reasonable time I'm going to try and get the family back out there for it.
