Hey guys... just curious, for all the auditions you've done that have resulted in sales, have you ever had Axiom contact you proactively to say "hey, thanks for the referral, here's your credit."

I'll admit I haven't done _that_ many, but thus far I've had to ask for every one and it seems odd that they aren't more proactive on this like they are in everything else that has to do with customer service.

I had one audition and the fellow had bought a set of M80s. He failed to mention the audition when he purchased and I never pushed the issue.

Maybe he failed to mention it because he didn't know that he should. I actually was going to jokingly ask if Axiom compensated for auditions. This is the first I have heard of it. Where is it stated?

Could be, it's no big deal.

When Amie was around she contacted me a couple times to let me know someone was interested, so she was well aware of it. Other times I had the person contact me through the forums and I let Amie know someone was coming to my place for an audition. When people come I let them know about the process and asked that they mention it if they purchase. Every one of my auditions that lead to a sale had an email with bonus bucks after the system was kept past the 30 days.

Here's a clip from the Owners Club.

Audition Club

Are you the person friends always come to with their a/v questions? The gear guru in your neighbourhood? Are you open to meeting new people and showing them your Axiom gear? If so, the Axiom Audition Club is for you.

Here's how it works: we'll list you in the 'Hearing Things' Audition thread on our message boards. If a customer auditions your speaker system and buys speakers, we'll give you Axiom Dollars, in the amount of 5% of their total purchase. You can use those dollars in the Axiom Store to buy gifts for your friends - or yourself!

To sign up, send an email to the Webmaster with your name, city, state or province, and the products in your set up, as well as the best way for a potential customer to contact you. You'll be on your way in no time!

I've given one "official" audition. It resulted in a sale. The buyer contacted me via PM here, so I don't know if Axiom was involved in directing him to me or not.

I asked the buyer to mention my name if/when he was going to buy. He said he would. He emailed me a couple of weeks later to say that he had bought Axioms and that he did remember to tell them that I had done an audition.

I then emailed Axiom to confirm the details, and they promptly responded that they were aware of it, and that I should expect the gift certificate a couple of weeks after the 30-day trial period ends. Makes sense to me.

About a week past the buyer's 30-day trial, I got an email from Axiom with my Gift Certificate number & details.

I then turned right around and used it buy a pair of QS8's. \:\) So that was an hour of my time well spent.

If the buyer forgot to mention you, I'd just email Axiom about it and ask.

My experience is almost the same, though Axiom contacted me after the 30-day trial period and I still haven't used my credit! \:\)

I don't think Axiom really advertises this, as they don't want potential Axiom purchasers to feel like they can't trust their host at a demo.

I feel confident in saying that the very large majority of us would give a demo just because we believe in the product and it's a nice way to spend an hour.

Any credits that Axiom passes along are really just "icing" and an after-the-fact "Thank You", not some hard form of commission.

I've given many auditions resulting in sales and the last few I haven't bothered checking up on my 'Thank You'. I did have a a couple hundred in GC's that went towards my M80 purchase in 07.

I'd certainly welcome doing lots more... but no one in my area ever seems to be asking.

If I lived in Iowa, I'd open a freakin' dealership! \:\)

Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be much of a demand for auditions here in south Florida, had one audition last year and ironically the guy was from Canada ... go figure.

Maybe if I expanded my music and movie collection with more '40s material. ;\)

Hey Mark, funny stuff. In reality, I've only done 5-6 demos at the house since finding Axiom. \:\)

Very true, and it seems the most time I get to play with my system is when I have an audition. It's funny because everyone feels as though they're imposing and say they'll only take 15 minutes. I laugh, say not to worry about it and tell them to expect to be here at 2 hours. They never believe me but the time flies by going through all the music and movie clips.

I had a good run of 5-6 auditions a year or so ago but none since then. Come one people, I need some time to play with my system, send me a pm

That is the main reason I do auditions, I really get to appreciate the system to it's fullest while doing the auditions, the second is to meet other people interested in the hobby.

I've never done one. I think I've only had 2 requests, and both backed out. Or at least never showed up. I have talked a number of people into buying Axioms, but they were pretty much all sound unheard.

If I drop by and drool over your HG cherry speakers does that count?

I'd gladly audition without compensation as well as I always enjoy the heck out of the experience. Sounds like my experiences thus far with the "axiom bucks" have been an anomaly, good to hear. \:\)

(I'm currently debating whether my next purchase is going to be a real wood set of M3s for my loft or a set of Audiobytes for the computer... choices!)

Wear a bib and your welcome to come over \:\)

I actually had one guy come and he started to put his disks and drink on my speakers (1st set of Boston Cherry) while we were setting up play order of the audition. He was a nice guy but almost never made it to becoming an Axiom owner as I'm very protective of my speakers. Especially now with the HG Cherry which everyone loves to touch and leave finger marks on.

Look, listen, play, take the remote, have fun, but it surprises me how many people have wanted to use them as drink holders.

Wow, you've had bad guests! I've never had anyone try that move. I'm sure my evil eye would scare them away before the drink got within 6" of the speakers! \:\)
