Happy Birthday Charles! Hope you’re not going to be to hung over to enjoy it.
Posted By: CV Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/01/10 08:03 AM
Thanks, Dean. Nah, I'm boring and don't drink. Of course, I do stay up late, which won't help as tomorrow I work the day shift, which means I need to be able to fall asleep immediately. Someone knock me out.
Posted By: grunt Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/01/10 08:19 AM
I hate having to switch over to day shift. I normally hit the sack around 4-5am but on drill weekends I have to be at work at 6:30. I never manage to get to bed before 2:00.

Oh hey, happy birthday! 5:30 AM here, and I'm about ready to go to sleep. I'm lucky to have a 4-day weekend.

Happy Birthday Charles!! Certainly makes New Year's Day a little more special, enjoy your day.

One good thing about not drinking, Charles, is that you have more money to spend on handbags.

Happy Birthday!

Yay, I get to both both part of the M80 Club as well as the Boring Non-Drinkers. I'll have to clear some membership card space out in my wallet.

Ha ha, thanks. I hope she's not just wearing her skin to begin with.

Oh, not really. There is, of course, the receiving of Christmas gifts that double as birthday gifts, and then there's the fact that my birthday is hangover day, but I've still always like it. It's so convenient to have my new age coincide with the new year. Simpler.

I keep volunteering for the holiday shifts because of the computer I want to finish. But then I always run out of work, so I go home early. I need to maybe get better at being paid for doing nothing. But yeah, under normal circumstances I like staying up late and sleeping in. I can't believe I worked a number of years starting at 6:30 am. Now even noon seems too early. \:\)

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. This is pretty much my home on the internet, so it means a lot!
Posted By: SRoode Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/01/10 11:23 PM
Did you go to Cedar's for your birthday? Always my favorite when I lived in Richland several years ago.
Posted By: CV Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/01/10 11:30 PM
I'm having friends go out with me tomorrow night, but we're just going to Red Robin. I'm taking advantage of their free burger thing for your birthday. A couple of the people who are supposedly coming I don't get to see often, so it should be a lot of fun.
Posted By: RickF Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/01/10 11:33 PM
Happy Birthday Charles, from a boring semi-retired drinker!

I like how you put that. I also consider this my home on the Internet. If only Sean didn't hog the comforter all the time!

Another Happy Birthday, Charles!

Happy Bday Charles!
Posted By: CV Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/02/10 10:13 AM
Thanks again, guys. It was a pretty good birthday. My best friend and coworker brought lunch in to me at work. She had the day off, and the roads were somewhat icy, but she brought me food, anyway, so that was pretty great. This is even though tomorrow we'll be going out for my bigger dinner. It seems like a fair number of people may actually show up, which I wasn't expecting to happen.

My mom ordered me pizza (Thai Peanut Supreme with chicken from Pizza Pipeline is worthwhile) and made brownies, so that was cool, too. Also had some blueberry sparkling cider, which I liked.

Oh, and then ordering more computer parts was fun, too. I should have all of the pieces after my next paycheck.

Special brownies?

Hey Charles!
Happy belated birthday.... I'm glad to hear it was a good one!

Happy Birthday, Charles!!

Sorry, I've been away from the computer and didn't see this thread until this morning. Glad to see you had an enjoyable day!

That's because you have to let the rest of us take our turns with the pink bunny slippers!
Posted By: CV Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/03/10 04:28 PM
The Red Robin dinner was pretty cool, too. Except, of course, for the staff singing to me, but the free burger and ice cream had to have a price.
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/03/10 04:29 PM
And that price was humiliation and pain.
Posted By: pmbuko Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/04/10 01:37 AM
The humiliation comes not from being sung to or being the center of attention, but for being the cause of other people having to sit through a poorly sung, copyright-friendly birthday song abomination.

I take it you guys don’t give tips at Cold Stone Creamery? ;\)
Posted By: CV Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/04/10 02:19 AM
We have a Marble Slab Creamery here, but not a Cold Stone Creamery. It sounds like I'm missing out.
Posted By: pmbuko Re: Happy Birthday CV - 01/04/10 03:31 AM
I prefer my ice cream unsmeared.

Happy Birthday, Charles. I hope you had a great day to celebrate and got some nifty gifts.

I wish you and everyone in the forums a healthy, happy, and successful New Year.

Happy belated Charles! Sorry I'm late. Here's hoping your new year is full of presents.
