Sometimes it doesn't seem like I live sunny Calif. I'm wondering if spring will ever come!
That looks cold Michael, our entire winter was springlike and spring so far has been darn near summer like although yesterday and today were a little cooler with the temps peaking in the lower to mid eighties.
It was a sunny, balmy 15C here today. Played 9 holes of golf after work and it was great!
um... 75 degrees F here.... in Dallas.... In another month, then we may see another 100+ days of 100F+ temps......

Beautiful dog, and awsome view.
Had 6" of snow Thursday night, yesterday was sunny and 7 C and most of the snow melted; today is 2 C and snowing again. I will take this over hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes etc, just have to keep in perspective.
Its been sunny and 12 above, snow melting like crazy. Calgary has the weirdest weather ever. It snowed when iwas there in july for the rodeo.
67 degrees and sunny here.... an unusually beautiful day today!
Monday, strangely enough, is supposed to be 90.
It's been an unusually mild winter and a bizarrely-warm Spring!
Yesterday the forecast was just for partial clouds, no rain. As soon as I started washing my car, the clouds got darker. Just when I was doing the final rinse, I started to feel drops of water that were not coming from the hose. Luckily, I had access to a garage to do the waxing and stuff.

That's what we call the California rain dance.
Today was amazing! 64 in the morning and not a cloud in the sky. 79 by 1PM and a light breeze and few puffy clouds. My wife and I went to
this today. I had the ultimate live surround sound experience. My wife plays violin and recently joined a bluegrass group, which has been a stretch for her. Being classically trained, she's used to dots on a page - which doesn't exist for a lot of bluegrass/folk/cajun music. But some is available. At one point I was holding a music sheet (too breezy for a stand) and sitting in front of two violins. Around me, clockwise, was two guitars, a bass, a banjo, a dulcimer, another banjo and another guitar. I was literally surrounded by instruments, all playing their part - the guitars and banjos were playing something slightly different - and I had the best seat in the house! SACD-Live!
That sounds wonderful, Scott!
That does sound great, Scott! Best seat in the house!
Thank you for sharing.
It was! We're still talking about it.
Back on topic; Today's weather is about 5 degrees warmer across the board, but about 30% higher in humidity (now ~85% RH). The honeymoon is over...
~80-85 degrees here in NoVa. Of course, Wednesday is supposed to be in the 50s.
Going to be a perfect 75 degrees here in Arizona. Yesterday was in the 60s. In a couple days we'll be back up to 90-something.
*sigh*
Goodbye nice weather!
Supposed to go to 19 c here today and I'm a good number of degrees more North than you. That's not super hot but nice for us in April. Of course, that's not helping is it?
Sat. with Jake.
Sun. with Leia
Today with Ranger.
40 degree change in the last couple days. I need to check that Mayan calendar.
Couple weeks ago it was in the 90's here, then last week we struggled to get to 60 most days, now it's back to the low 70's but looks like its going to drop back into the low 60's by the weekend! Nebraska weather is crazy. Oh ya we had some tornadoes Saturday but that's standard fare around these parts.
Very nice looking dogs.
I'm also glad to see someone else has weather swings as abrupt as our own. I took my snow tires off last weekend and even stretched my compressor hose so I could do it out in the sunny driveway instead of the garage, but I've been tricked before.
It was a great day today, our first 20+ C day of the warm season!!!!!
...typical Neb weather right here...
April 23rd in Ottawa, we were out in shorts on Easter weekend - this is just plain wrong today...
I'm glad I, ahem, wisely chose to leave my snow tires on. We are expecting show/slush over night.
Ya my friend in Ohio is complaining about them getting snow tonight.
99F today. We did crack the century mark over the weekend in Arizona. A/C FTW.
Whew! Me no likey that hot, and either does my stereo.
Whew! Me no likey that hot, and either does my stereo.
Me neither. Listening to music in the summer out here means timing each session between A/C cycles due to the main unit being right behind my listening chair.
We had a week of nice weather in the mid 70's last week, thunder and rain predicted for the next couple days.
Sounds like a fun day tomorrow. Blizzard warning. Only 11 to 16 inches predicted in my area but when it all drops in a single day with high winds, it gets a bit messy.
Actually, my only real complaint is that it's happening on a Saturday instead of a workday.
Edit:
I really shouldn't have checked the marine forecast as well. If you don't hear from me Monday, it's because my house is floating out on an icepack to Newfoundland.
STRONG NORTHEASTERLIES AND NORTHERLIES OVER THE GULF OF ST. LAWRENCE
WILL ALSO PRODUCE HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER LEVELS SATURDAY. THERE IS
A RISK OF SOME COASTAL FLOODING ESPECIALLY AT HIGH TIDE SATURDAY
NIGHT. IN ADDITION, THESE STRONG WINDS WILL PUSH PACK ICE INTO NORTH
TO NORTHEAST FACING SHORELINES.
Sounds like you need a Hummer.
What guy DOESN'T need a hummer?
What guy DOESN'T need a hummer?
All these guys(link is safe, in case you were wondering)
It's easy to see what's wrong. None of these have the low profile tires on them.
BECAUSE. If they did, they wouldn't be fool enough to drive them in these kind of places.
Thank you, thank you - appearing here all week....
I just got back inside from slogging through 12" of snow to go to the back of the house.
Our cape cod has a DirectTV dish mounted on the bottom corner of the roof, slightly more than a story up. The snow, ice, wind and temperture all combined during this interesting storm to provide a relatively thick layer of "you aren't watching TV until the sun melts me".
.$););(7)@. WINTER!!!!!!!!!
So, the extension ladder and I made our way BACK through 12" tundra. I haul my old bones UP the freakin' ladder and brush/scrape the dish clean.
No TV you say???? I think NOT!!!
Now I can settle in for a nice evening of "Mr. Ed" re-runs.
I think I would of just switched to that outdoor antenna mounted in the attic.
We got 18" of snow last night. It's a nice sunny day today, at a balmy 22 deg F.
24.5" was our official total.
I haven't done any cleanup yet. The city does the sidewalks with these:
I usually beat them to it because I like making it the best sidewalk for the joggers and walkers. It sometimes takes the city staff 24-36 hours before they get to it because we're not in a school zone and they prioritize roads.
This time, I'm letting them do it as the snow on the sidewalk is up to my nipples and heavy, as it's the stuff plowed from the road. I didn't have any appts today, nor tomorrow, so I'm spending time in my workshop and will let them take care of it!
Lazy bum.
Just kidding. If it were me, I'd still be hiding under the covers.
I've never stalled like this. But with no appointments, I figured what the hell!
...

Thanks for the visual, now I'm gonna have nightmares tonight.
For some reason, the worst of the storm missed us. There was more snowfall north south and east of us. We only got half of your snowfall. That's still a lot, but manageable.
I didn't get any snow. It's been 40 degrees here.
Been pretty nice here only a dusting of snow today and around 32F.
Um, I played golf yesterday and just had a pullover on.
And pants.
Um, I played golf yesterday and just had a pullover on.
And pants.
Same here!
I'm so glad that you all were wearing pants, and not just the pullovers.
Sean, what time are you and I teeing off tomorrow?
And is there a room I can stay in where the coat rack can't watch me while I sleep?
Joyce on the sidewalk. I decided not to wait for the city sidewalk guys and made a path from my driveway to the front door. Before going out to dinner, I had Joyce stand here for scale. Also, the orange stakes are 32" above ground and I had to remove some snow around each so the guys can see the markers. The sidewalk runs the full width of the orange stakes out to the street. I considered doing the rest, but eff that!
Edit- It had to be done by hand....the snowblower wasn't touching it!
Boy! Do you have a blurry sign!!!! Not really good for business.
Mark - that's heavy duty!
Do you get big snowfalls like that very often?
That makes my shoulders/back sore just looking at it!
That makes my shoulders/back sore just looking at it!
It sure would be nice if just looking at a situation could count as a workout.
We didn't get as much as Nova Scotia or NE US but what we did get loves to fill in the funnel at the top of my lane.
That's Sharon braving it up there. She opted out of snowshoes for our walk cause she felt adventurous. That's my neighbor's truck parked like a redneck in his yard for some reason.
Sharon looks different than I had pictured her.
What constitutes "redneck parking"?
BTW, re: "What if we had ideas that could think for themselves?
What if one day our dreams no longer needed us? "
You've now prompted me to search out some LSD and ponder your SIG line!
Parking on your grass. Particularly if the vehicle is broken and/or up on blocks.
... if the vehicle is broken and/or up on blocks.
Ken has two old muscle cars and one pick-up truck like that. He's acclimating well to Virginia.
I knew that from the y'all.
How can anyone tell if the truck is on the grass?
Sharon looks different than I had pictured her.

That is because she is doing a fine job of her "Han Solo on Hoth" impression.
Ken nailed the redneck parking bit. Neighbor has had his broken down truck parked in what would be his garden under the snow there since the fall. Not going anywhere until Spring, Im guessing now.
Image improved.
I'm really glad all you guys seem to have survived the Blizzard of 2013 without undue hardship.
Can't bring yourself to call it Winter Storm Nemo, can ya?
JP your avatar inspired me to mention that my "Doctor Blue" t-shirt arrived last week from RedBubble.com. I don't have a pic atm but here is the logo...
You gotta love a company that has this on it's shirt tags....
Machine wash in cold water.
Do not machine dry.
Do not slap pandas.
::Crossing it off my list of Things To Do::
JP your avatar inspired me to mention that my "Doctor Blue" t-shirt arrived last week from RedBubble.com.
Cool. He is an adorable blue furry monster doctor.
The hell with waiting for the city for this next snowstorm! I'm ready for
whatever we end up getting!
Well, the two on the right are to be sold. The White Supremacist One on the left is new, though. I decided, thanks to BoB, that I should start celebrating my birthday early and often and also that I should move up to the Real Thing rather than the facsimiles! Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!
Speaking of BoB, it looks like he just did another drive-by on the forum!
I figured on a board with such a high percentage of Canadians, Snowblower photos would be like porn....
what makes the Ariens better than the other 2 ??

Where's the Timmies cup holder?
::waits patiently for real snowblower pics::
what makes the Ariens better than the other 2 ??
Much bigger engine, OHV, all-steel construction, cast-iron gearcase with a 5 year warranty and, most importantly, hand warmers!
Really, it's about the controls. I HATED the controls on the Poulan Pro I was using (the black one in the photo). They fought every change, didn't engage in detents. It was a belt-drive with a non-adjustable belt, so when offered the slightest resistance, the wheels would stop. Not spin...as if they were making an attempt...but simply stop spinning so I'd have to push it all the time to go forward.
Using it was like having a shopping cart with four bad wheels and a 200 pound load. You just fought with it constantly and I think I was often more sore than if I had just shoveled.
We'll see how the Ariens does today. I was prompted to buy it by the forecast of a heavy, wet 12~18" this weekend. It ends up that we're likely to get half of that, but since it's not the powdery snow we normally get, it'll at least be a little bit of a test.
Fred, that's funny. You Canadian you.
Here, it would be a "Dunkin Donuts" cup holder.
Well, we got about 10" of a very heavy snow and the plows left about 20~24" of heavy stuff at the bottom of the three-lane wide driveway.
The Ariens TOTALLY kicked ass and went through it all like a not knife through butter. I've never owned a snowblower that worked so effortlessly, powerfully and smoothly!
This is my fourth snowblower since living in NH, and the best of the others only had 50% of the performance this one just had!
I'm beginning to think that my 10,000th post will just be a photo of this snowblower with boobies Photoshopped on....

Some days you
really scare me Mark. Just stick with the cup holder and
