My wife did not drive cars very much in her home country. When she came to the USA, she was a nanny but did not do any of the driving. After we got married she wanted a new car but I said no. Used car. I told her she needed some experience.
I bought her a 2001 Corolla and she loved it. It ran great and was clean as a whistle. She loved it until her friends at the restaurant she worked at made fun of her. "Does it have A/C? Does it have a cassette player?" They all drove new cars.
I was hurt because I loved her 2001. It is a great car. I tried to explain the value of a good running car. But to no avail.
My wife is in Thailand right now but when she comes home there will be a brand new 2012 Corolla sitting in the driveway waiting for her.
It was a good feeling being able to do it.
That is awesomely cool. Still, you are a crazy person. Is it Cannon red?
Dinner's not for an hour and Bandit and I would l-o-v-e to go for a ride, now that he's done swimming in the park.

I would want to bust some skulls..... I wonder if those people could "Afford" their new cars?...
Anyhow, that's really cool that you are in a position to be able to do that for her.
Nice. You're gonna get lucky!
Did she have input into the color and interior? You are a brave man.
I know she wanted white. So I got her that. I don't know for sure, but I think coming to America and owning a new car was a dream of hers. I was talking to her on the phone yesterday and I could hear her mom's chickens in the background. I think she lives in a very rural area.
If you guys could have been with us last summer, we went to NYC specifically to see the Statue of Liberty. Her reaction there was incredible. I didn't think there were still people all over the world still dreaming to come here.
Anyway, thanks for all the support. I think she will be really excited.
Wow. You should get one of those gigantic bows to put on it.
Bob,
if you are home Wednesday afternoon I could use a ride to Copeland Toyata. If not, no worries. Sorry I did not bring you for the negotiations.
But, she had her heart set on the new 2012 Yellow Ferrari!
I'll schedule room. Seeing a gift before the recipient does is cool enough, but RIDING in it---pricelss. Plus, I look very cool in white. The only way I wouldn't be able to help you is if the interior is beige.
We drive by a Ferrrari dealership often, and she likes.
Thanks Bob!

Hey Lampshade great gesture on your part, I hope she decides to keep it. I figure once you drove that Corolla off their lot, it depreciated about $3500. Which means the price of that new yellow Ferrari, just went up. I'm jus' sayin'

Wow, what a gift. That's awesome.
You can't go wrong with a Corolla.
Besides even if it was feasible, can you even just go buy a new Ferrari? It used to be that you have to be "invited" to buy via the company.
I think it depends on the Ferrari.
Chris, how did she like the car? Was she upset that Bob was in it before she was?
She comes home Wednesday. Bob threatened to get rid of the new car smell by farting in it so I wouldn't let him sit in it.
um, so what was the result? no photos......?
She loves it!
I though there was a photo of her loving the new car around somewhere...
Is that her mascot in the back seat?
That is Mr. Bear. She also has Bun Bun. Mr. Bear is a good story. She won him the very first time she ever played a coin operated crane game.
GREAT GOOGLYWOOGLIES! TWO
Mr. Bears on the Axiom forum!
Our cup runneth over.
Looks like Toyota has lengthened their wheel base since 04. My son had a Corolla, but it wasn't that long. I'm glad she like it.
Yeah,
it's a little harder to see out the back now but they have added stability control.
