Anyone else have extremely slow rips with the latest version(1.0 beta 3)? I am running Windows 8 and it rips at best 1.3x. I have since given up and am using dbpoweramp, I at least get 6-7x secure ripping with it.

I haven't updated it in a while nor tried it on Win7. I assume that combination always worked fine for you with the same hardware?

Unfortunately I can't say. it is a new laptop I am using and have never tried EAC on it till now. I have seen a number of reports of this new version ripping slowly, certainly slower than it has in the past. dbpoweramp uses accurip for verification as well so I feel comfortable using it for accurate rips.

Win 7 but I haven't upgraded EAC since I installed it so I can't say. Sounds like I won't do it in the future either.

I'm still running v1 beta1 on WXP - kickin it old school. Sorry I guess that doesn't help.

I'm using v1.0 beta 3 from 29Aug2011 on Win7 and have no problems with it.

Laptop drives (CD/DVD) are often pretty slow.

True, but like I said, I am getting 4-6x using dbpoweramp, I was kind of expecting pretty much the same from EAC. Hmmmmmmm I think I will load up EAC on one of the desktops in the house and compare.
