Time for a vacation! We are spending 10 nights in playa del Carmen Mexico for one last get away before the baby comes. I have two friends from highschool that recently moved down there so we will have some company this time around!
Work is over rated...
Well it's actually 20 days until we leave but I'm chomping at the bit already!
Um, I meant have fun anticipating having fun?
Well, you know what I meant.
Is your suitcase packed yet?
Work *is* overrated, until you try to figure out how to pay for a vacation without an income or a trust fund.
Good point Peter. Now if I could only find that trust fund.... Any folks out there looking to adopt? I prefer parents with lots of money in their mid 90s with no other family members...
My father (who is retired) has two comments about work.
1 - It's another four letter word
2 - It's the curse of the drinking class
10 days until vacation for us! Another Florida trip, so we are heading south too. Not as far as Mexico though. St Petersburg, Jacksonville, and a 1 day stop in Orlando for a visit to Universal Island of Adventure. Again, not as exotic as Mexico though.
Sounds nice.
No vacation for me for a while. Not until the first two weeks of July anyways. Of course, by that time, it will be like the South up here.
Planning on going to see Metric and some other great bands for our local Canada Day celebrations then spending the first week sailing out to camp on some little islands for a few days. A wedding in the middle then spend the second week sailing or kayaking to the various beaches you can reach from our bay. Why travel?
Still a trip South is in the works for next year. Winters are not near as much fun. Actually, if the truth be told, a ski vacation would be just as preferable for me.
Anywhoo as per my sig, I'm riffing. Feel free to go on without me
and David, HAVE FUN!!!
That sounds fun Nick. We were very close to going to Florida this year. However, we love Playa del Carmen so went with Mexico again.
5 days!
I can't wait for all of the delicious food

Don't drink the water...
Food looks great though!
We got over 13 inches of rain the first 5-6 days of our vacation. It made for some interesting days with lots of flooding. It still managed to clear up during the day a few times to allow beach time. The second 5 days of our trip looks to be mostly sunny though. We sent the rain to Florida for Nick in the form of a tropical storm
Welcome to the tropics! Hope you are managing to enjoy your vacation regardless of how wet it is.
Yeah Fred, we have been having a blast!
Yeah, thanks for sending the rain to Florida. We left Tampa today in the middle of Tropical Storm Andrea blowing through. Crazy and exciting at the same time.
Glad you guys made it out! We're there any flight delays?
Traveling home tomorrow. It has been a good ten nights! As much as I don't want to go I think I am looking forward to my own bed, our cats, and fresh water out of the tap!
