I guess I purchased my 22's just in time. I just visited the outlet and see that the price has gone up. Lucky me!

That just means the ones you ordered were really blemished.

I never found a mark on them.

Don't worry. Peter is just a very mean person.

In other words, he likes to tease people to the point of insanity. Sounds like my son. Maybe Peter isn't his real name.

Here's a story to make you feel better.

I got my M22s from the outlet for $360. When I got them, they were externally flawless. The only problem I could find with them was that the vortex port on one (currently the right speaker) was glued together incorrectly.

The vortex port is made from two parts that are glued together to form a long continuous port. If you stick your finger into the port and feel along a few inches in (not unlike a prostate exam, I hear...!) you should find a seam. On my speaker, the vortex ribs are not lined up at this seam. but skewed so that the peak on one outermost part lines up with the valley on the inner part.

I've always had a nagging suspicion that this affects the sound to a small degree. I know the outlet items are supposed to be acoustically perfect, but still...

Vortex port? I thought they were call "gorilla sphincters"!

Wow, Peter... You would make a VERY good physician!

Peter, I hope that you realize that cases are being reported all over the world now by physicians describing patients coming in with speakers stuck on their arms.

Sorry. I forgot to mention I have big hands, and thus long fingers.

And please, get your minds out of the gutter!

Uh, I think you were the one who shoved us all into the gutter...

BTW, for all those worried, I checked the speaker myself. I don't have very long fingers, and my hand didn't get stuck. Just remember to go gently and slowly. [evil grin]

Thanks God none of my Axioms has the vortex port...

Geesh...and all this talk is coming from the straight guys...
Posted By: pmbuko Re: Just in time - 09/15/03 05:05 PM
I suppose I should have added "I'm not gay or anything, really I'm not, but if you stick your finger in the hole (I'M NOT GAY!!)..." to the beginning of my post to make it abundantly clear.
Posted By: spiffnme Re: Just in time - 09/15/03 09:36 PM
You don't have to be gay to put your finger in a hole.

Oh geesh...this thread has just gone to far. Next subject!

Sorry, I was trying to act like a stereotypical homophobic to the point of paranoia straight guy. That smiley sticking out its tongue just doesn't look sarcastic enough, I guess. But you're right. Next subject.

There's a reason I don't use the smilies.

And that reason is I don't know how and don't care enough to look it up in the FAQ.

[evil grin]

Hey, Amie... Would you just give us 20 more smilies? I am bored...
