I just received the M22 and I really love the sound of these speakers. I have one question/concern though. When I run my ear over the tweeters I seem to hear what sounds like air coming out of a basketball. Is this a normal characteristic? I need to be very close to the speakers to hear this sound. My old speakers don't seem to make as pronounced of a noise. Mind you the quality of sound these speakers make at a normal listening position is outstanding. Also, I'm expecting the VP 150 any day now, I'll see if they make the same noise.

Sounds to me like your hearing the sound floor of your amp or source. What type of amp are you using? What source do you have it set to when you notice the noise? Your old speakers might not have been able to repoduce high sounds like the axioms can.

Hi,
I concur with anonymous. You are hearing the noise floor of your amp. All amplifiers have thermal noise and you can usually hear it with your ear close to the speaker. However, you shouldn't be able to hear any hiss from your normal listening position.
