Anyone curious about those personality tests? Like to look into your inner being from another person's perspective?

Take the short quiz here.

Check out your personality here.

This is just to kill some time until i can get some listening tests done on the subs this weekend.

Chess! Hola! Welcome back.

INFJ. I always want there to be another option besides Yes/No. Something like "depends on how many a-holes are in the group".

What subwoofers?
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 06:05 PM
INTJ, but I could wobble into being an INFJ depending on my mood.

QUOTE:
You are:

* moderately expressed introvert
* moderately expressed intuitive personality
* slightly expressed thinking personality
* distinctively expressed judging personality

Yeah, me too. Some of those questions are just plain weird. How about an, "I dunno." answer?
Posted By: BigWill Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 06:15 PM
Welcome back, buddy. How is everything?

INTJ. Same as in college 17 years ago, although my I % went way down and my J % went up a little.

I read yours, Tom. Uncanny how accurate these psychological types are, huh?

You judging me!?!?

Anybody ever take a law enforcement psych test. I did, took hours, hundreds and hundreds of questions about how many poops you take, how many pillows you use, other bizarre stuff.
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 06:21 PM
Whoa, that's bizarre. I guess they want to know how long you can stay in a squad car or something.
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 06:22 PM
So what's yours?

In reply to:

Anybody ever take a law enfocement psych test

how many donuts have you ever eaten at one setting?
do you like glazed, jelly filled, or chocolate covered?
do you lick the icing from your moustache, or wipe it with a napkin?

those are important things to know!!

naw, i poke fun.. funny story.. one of my friends from junior high and high school was just elected our new police chief a few months ago. the youngest police chief in the history of our city.. anyway, i went to his celebration rally to congratulate him, and was joking around with him.. i told him his first ordr of business should be to get a good donut shop in our town.. he laughed, and said at least then he would know where to find all the officers..

BTW- we have horrible donuts in my town.. no dunkin donuts, no wenchels, no krispy kreme, no nothing.. we have a small mom and pops place that is sort of OK, but their kitchen is so small, they run out of donuts by 8 or 9. i need to go on a mission.

+1 to the INTJ list. I guess that if we find enough INTJ's here on the boards, since we're "rare", we can form an exclusive collective to rid the world of ALL ignorance. *evil grin*

We shall destroy them! Be afraid, stupid people!

ISTJ - didn't take it now but that's what I was the last two times I took it. my ex was big into that stuff - finding out what MBTI people were and what occupations they would be good at.

Your Type is
INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
56 67 1 1

hmmm....

Maybe there is a correlation b/w specific personality types and love of audio (or perhaps even participation in forums) as a general hypothesis.

Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work (poll) - 08/25/04 07:03 PM
Small sample so far, but daaaaaaamn.
My percentages were as follows:

Introverted-56% Intuitive-44% Thinking-1% Judging-67%

Funny, I didn't think I was hitting the judging ones that hard, but apparently so...
INTP
67% 44% 22% 11%

Looks like I'm the first "P" so far. What's up with all ya'll being so judgemental?

Actually, I tend to flip back and forth between INTJ and INTP on these tests, always just being slightly one or the other.

Seriously, though, totally weird how similar most of the results thus far have been.
what is surprising me is all the I's.. introverted?? i have been the only extroverted thus far??

i havent seen the lack of people speaking their mind around here.. i just cant see how ya'll are all being listed as quiet?

bigjohn
Another INTJ here.

22% Introverted, 33% Intuitive, 11% Thinking, 61% Judging

I think I'm a little more introverted.
Posted By: ericb Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 07:50 PM
INTJ - 44 22 1 44

  • moderately expressed introvert
  • slightly expressed intuitive personality
  • slightly expressed thinking personality
  • moderately expressed judging personality

Definitely something strange here if INTJ is only supposed to make up 1% of the population. This board is very skewed so far.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with people who post on boards, as this is one of the few I have ever posted on. Perhaps the interest in audio has more going for it.
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 07:52 PM
Maybe INTJs are more likely to take tests posted on web forums... but that's probably too complex.
Posted By: ericb Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 08:02 PM
There might be something to that. Certainly scoring high on judging has to be linked to this whole audio thing.

Everybody's a critic!

I have to go back and look at some of the work by Ayn Rand. I remember she was a really smart person, but I vaguely recall she has some far out ideas. I think I have a copy of Atlas Shrugged somewhere buried in the boxes of books in my basement.
Posted By: Capn_Pickard Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 08:05 PM
Really cool quiz - the analyses were interesting, if not spot on correct.

I was an ENFJ - extroverted, intuitive, feeling, judging
67, 33, 11, 33

Posted By: Radspecv Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 08:19 PM
Just a note on the introverted/extroverted thing - it's not really a measure of whether you are in introvert or an extrovert, it's where you get your energy. Some people need alone time to reenergize, others need to be around people.

Another INTJ.
33 67 44 67

I may need to simmer down on the judging.
Posted By: Ajax Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 08:42 PM
Interesting. I've always said that some people are "in HERE" people, and some are "out THERE" people. What I mean by that is that some people seek happiness; life's answers and solutions within themselves, and some seek happiness; the answers and solutions, out there among others. I happen to be an "in here" person. (Good thing, since I've been in this apartment 4 years running, now. )

Oh! ISTJ 22,22,32,33
Posted By: BigWill Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 11:15 PM
My wife scored a ISFJ. 78% on the introvert thing - no wonder she always says, "Leave me alone."
Posted By: spiffnme Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/25/04 11:40 PM
OK...seeing all the other scores I'm beginning to think I'm a bit of a freak. Most of you are at least fairly balanced. What's the deal with my score??!!

INTJ
56% 67% 1% 1%

Posted By: pablo Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 12:10 AM
What a trip...Add me to the INTJ list. As generally a small percentage of the population, ya have to ask - mere coincidence ? I'll have to sit by myself, think about it, and finally make a judgement.
Posted By: BigWill Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 01:17 AM
I only remember the first number, 11%, and the last, 67%. The other two were somewhere between that.

I wouldn't worry about the numbers, Spiff. If you were to take them quite literally it would mean you're barely thinking and barely able to make a judgement. You know that ain't true.
Posted By: Thasp Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 01:18 AM
I'm an INTP.

You are:

* slightly expressed introvert
* moderately expressed intuitive personality
* slightly expressed thinking personality
* slightly expressed perceiving personality

Dominant: Introverted Thinking
Auxiliary: Extraverted Intuition
Tertiary: Introverted Sensing
Inferior: Extraverted Feeling

For this reason, INTPs are usually not in-tune with how people are feeling, and are not naturally well-equiped to meet the emotional needs of others.

The INTP may have difficulty giving the warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships.

They may become generally negative and cynical.

Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving

11 33 1 22

I seem to be quite a monster. That'd better be one hell of a sub comparison, chess.

Posted By: chesseroo Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 02:07 AM
I'm sorry Thasp.
I wasn't aware the INTP had so many negatives.
Have you seen the page on the site that discusses the personality types in regards to relationships?

We will do what we can with the sub auditions. Waiting to hopefully hear back from Bren.
Posted By: Thasp Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 02:19 AM
I didn't see that, I'll give it a look over.

I do get some positives, though.

INTPs value knowledge above all else. Their minds are constantly working to generate new theories, or to prove or disprove existing theories.

They're usually extremely bright, and able to be objectively critical in their analysis. They love new ideas, and become very excited over abstractions and theories.

They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge.

Good and bad with every one, I suppose.

Many people here are the IN** ones, which are related to being logical, critical thinkers. Must be why we don't spend $5000 on speaker wire.

I look forward to the results of the sub comparison - and thanks for taking time out of your schedule to do it for us.
Posted By: ericb Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 03:07 AM
Actually I was thinking everyone else (including myself) is probably too judgemental.

I've been looking around in the links for some sort of top-level map of the personalities..like what types are opposite of and adjacent to each other. Also, curious if anyone has found a key on how to read the scores (like what does a score of 1 mean)? I hope it doesn't mean what I think it does. A score of 1 on thinking? I know I'm better than that, whatever that might be!
Posted By: Ken.C Re: Something fun to kill time at work - 08/26/04 05:40 AM
They mean that you were very close to the cusp between thinking/feeling. The higher the score, the stronger your attribute. For example, I'm extremeley judgemental, but I'm right in between thinking/feeling. Not a bad thing, really.

Yet another INTJ. Axiom seems to be a hot spot for us 1%'ers.

Perhaps Axioms logo should have been:

"Axiom speakers for the rational, introverted, judgemental mind"
