I can't resist - I have been a fan since they were playing the Washington Senators. Tonight they may accomplish the unthinkable (they have already done the impossible this week!).

looks like this IS the year for them, they definetly earned it....maybe the curse is ruined by the plans for the new yankee stadium

Now, don't get too excited. It is entirely possible that the Cards could turn this around and win 4 straight. The ALCS could come back to haunt the Sox, yet.

Every Red Sox fan knows that. We have been 1 out away from winning it all - only to lose in 1986!

Even the NY Mets scoreobard was congratualing the RedSox on winning the world series.

I won't exhale until it is all over. Hope I don't die from lack of oxygen.

to watch baseball on TV, is in a word, BORING.. but, i cant help but admit that even i have found myself caught up in all this red sox mania. i did watch the 7 game, between them and the yankees, and i watched the first game of the WS. i will probably watch again tonight, just cause this could be it, but its not cause i have any real interest.

not trying to insult the diehard baseball fans, and i know you are out there. its just the pace of baseball, and the constant ritualistic behavior of its players, make me not want to watch it. i would much rather go watch some 12 year olds down at the little league park, than these over paid, self absorbed, arrogant, mullet heads. i know thats a very general statement, but it just about covers most of them.

so, for what its worth.. GO SOX.. just hurry up and end the season so the sports channels can spend more time talking about football!!!

no objections there. I can't watch a whole game. I tune in and out throughout the evening til it gets to the 8th innning.

CNN is much more interesting this week. But now I am off topic.

I'm the same way. Watching Baseball on TV is about as much fun as watching paint dry. At least with watching paint dry I'll get a buzz from the fumes.
But, flipping back once in a while is nice. I'm not even a baseball fan, but being from MA leaves me hoping they pull it off.

You need to watch it with a TiVo, the way I do. You just watch it at double speed until the pitcher's ready to let it fly, then drop it to real time. Once the catcher has it, you go back to double speed.

I start watching it 1.5~2 hours after it starts and finish in real-time.

it's so much better in 5.1 and hi-def; fox did a good job. i've been quiet about the sox, but all of us in the boston area are amazed. the sox and patriots, have given us some bragging rights. now if we could only get the celtics on the same path...hockey?? not since the days of the big, bad bruins. sunday should be a hell of a game.

Yes, nice win for the sox last nite. I agree, too, Tivo is the ONLY way to watch baseball. You can skip the warmups, "heartwarming" stories, etc. You can probably watch an entire game in about 15 min...

It only gets better w/ HD as well. You could almost see the individual drips of curl activator coming off of Pedro's geri curl. Was Pedro in Coming to America? HA!
