Attention Axiom Web-meister:

I noticed the blurb about Axiom "gear" coming soon.
I wouldn't mind having a small, Axiom decal or cling for the rear window of My vehicle..........(You know, a small, classy, white "sign" something like: "Axiom home audio speakers", or a logo and words)......in addition to what "gear" is going to be offered, is anything like this also going to be done?..........

I second that!

I tell ya, I don't get no respect 'roun' here. Whadaya mean "barely"? You beat the Browns handily. Trust me, the Cowboys are BETTER than the browns, but then just about everybody is (SF and Miami, excepted. Hee Hee, SF is my sister's team so I don't have to put up with any hassles from her )

I'd like to see some classy Axiom stuff. av123 is selling a wall plaque, like the Dolby Digital, and DTS plaques, for $100. And they're selling!

Axiom......

Ok, ok,.....a decal, a T-shirt, AND a coolie cup.

I had hats made for folks on the Ascend Forum with the blessing of Ascend. Not hard to do, and not expensive. With setup fees for the embroiderer, and a nice canvas hat, the cost ended up being about $13 each.

Thank's for the offer.........but, I'm not that fanatical.............YET.
Besides, My head is far too big to wear hats.

once you get the logo into an embroidering machine.....you can make all kinds of stuff.

Cool!
I'll take some Axiom briefs.
Posted By: nickbuol Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/02/04 11:06 PM
I have a very hi-res copy of the Axiom logo (obtained direct from Axiom) that could be used for such things on a personal basis (using decal paper and a good color printer for example)... If Axiom doesn't make them, I would be more than happy to share the logo. Their requirement to me was that I can't sell anything with the logo, so that rule would have to apply to everyone...

I already know what the gear is. Thanks to axioms ease of website url's.

Only thing i would ever consider is one of their jerseys which is 50 bucks, sell em for 20 bucks then i might buy one. Sorry. no t-shirts from what ive seen. I was kinda dissapointed with what i saw (and prices) since its kinda like free advertising, heck. oughtta pay me to wear the thing.

Thanks for the tip, Haloe boy.

Hey, how about an Axiom USB light? That would rock!

Posted By: MykeW Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/03/04 01:29 AM
Ya thanks, Haoleb. Neat !

The instructions for their new subs imply the USB lights are supposed to be used with them to see in the back easier.

Dhaaaaaa, maybe I should've read the write up beside them . Nevermind its been a long day and it looks like I'm stuck in the lab for a few hours . My axioms are sitting at home begging to be opened. Oh well...

Cheers, Jag

I am a Packaging Rep and I sell A LOT of labels (stickers). I am sure that I could get us all a very inexpensive cost on a thousand labels (fewest the will run). I could even send what is left over to Axiom for their use, ie, sending out one with an order. Let me know if you are interested and I will hook up the "crew"
Posted By: LT61 Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/03/04 01:08 PM
I thought I might have gotten a reply from Axiom by now about My "decal" idea.
Maybe They are on vacation here in Florida, with the rest of Canada.........( I can tell by the up-surge of cars with Ontario lp's, and people with white socks and black sandals).

i am in for the decal idea. i would actually like to get an image that would be big enough to transpose onto a plaque, and put on the wall, much like the ones you see for DTS, THX, Dolby Digital, etc.

BTW- does anyone know of any websites where i can find those type plaques. i saw some on ebay, but they looked a little cheap, and homemade. and expensive for what they were. since we are a bunch of bargain shoppers, i thought someone would have a better place for me to go?

Download and print the DTS etc. signs yourself for free from:

http://www.jhallman.com/hometheater/signs.htm

They come out great.

THANKS!!!

i will go check it out..

John,

If you decide to download and print your own, try using some high quality, 8x11 photo paper, and use the highest quality settings on your printer. It also might be a good idea to be sure your printer has a fresh cartridge(s) of ink.

Mine came out pretty good.

Only the bottom, THX sign is printed. I got the Dolby Sign from Dolby itself, for $20. DTS offers a sign (click on the "Home Theater" link), but it is considerably larger than the Dolby sign, so I opted to get my DTS Sign from Stargate Cinema for $30. As you can see from the photo, it is the same width as the Dolby sign. If you really want things to match, Stargate offers a Dolby sign that matches their DTS sign.

If you do a Google search for "Home Theater Signs, you might come up with other options.

I have all of the hi-res logos for THX, DD, DTS, Pioneer, Denon, SVS, and Axiom. I don't have any Denon equipment, but picked up the logo for Sirquack. Anyway, I turned the rest into theater signs that I am going to use. I have the original DTS and DD plaques from my old home theater, but I want to show off the new ones, plus make them all similar in make. Since SVS wants a fortune for their's, and THX ones are not available (legally) to a consumer, I am forced to make them myself. I will, in the end, get them printed on some high quality material and frame them.

Here is a link to a small version of what I've got so far (merged into one image)....

cool Nick, those look better than the ones I found...
Posted By: tomtuttle Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/03/04 08:47 PM
Nick, I'm very interested in your project. That is very nice work. Too bad about SVS. Don't discard the Denon one.

I know embarassingly little about image publishing. Do you have tiff files or what?

Another concept that occurred to me is to print these kinds of images on transparency stock and then perhaps laminate that between two sheets of plexiglass. That way, you could build your own backlit display with a simple wood frame and lighting of your choosing in whatever size and orientation you wanted.

Obviously, I have not yet received clearance for this plan from my wife, even if I had the technical resources and requisite time.

Good thread. Jack, thanks for the links and the photo. When you shared it before, I may have neglected to compliment you on it - those signs look great.

Man, things move fast in here...........we've gone from Me TRYING... (hello, is this thing on?) to give Axiom an Idea for a little car "sticker" and whatnot,......... to You guys making the stuff Yourselves.
Posted By: nickbuol Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/03/04 09:57 PM
Thanks for the compliment.

The original files are .EPS, which scale up very cleanly to any size. Then I open them up in Photoshop, do whatever manipulation I want to them, and I have them all saved in multiple formats.... .JPG set to low quality for the web, plus .TIF and a few in .PSD

I wish that I would have saved them all as .PSD, so that I could have kept all of the "elements" seperate inside each file....

As a technical aside, EPSes are vector art, which means that the artwork is composed of data about relative size, shape, etc. Therefore, by definition EPSes scale well!

Exactly, and the file size is nice and small. Perfect for logos.

I knew you knew that, but hey, I'm a geek.
Posted By: SirQuack Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/04/04 02:22 PM
Hey Nick, I dropped you an email at your work email address. Photoshop 6.0 like the Denon file, but for some reason I can't open the Axiom one in Photoshop or Adobe Acrobat 6.0 full version. I get some funky error about file not complete or missing information.....I'm used to working with JPG,TIF Group 4, and some other CAD formats, so EPS is a new one for me, but I'm sure if I can get it into Photoshop I'll be able to work with it...

if you have time to check what might be wrong with that file and send me a good one to my dkmaiowa@wmconnect.com account that would be awesome....

thanks dude, Randy

Would you be willing to share the Denon logo?
Posted By: SirQuack Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 12:09 AM
I believe Mr. Nick mentioned earlier in this thread that you could PM him if your interested, though, he just sent it to me and I've got issues opening it, he is checking as he has a version 7.0 of Photoshop and I was on 6.0....

He's probably busy mudding/taping his walls tonight
Posted By: nickbuol Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 04:43 AM
I just got done shooting off a bunch of emails with various logos in them. So far the biggest issue seems to be with the Axiom one. It should open with Photoshop v7, but if someone has Photoshop CS (v8) you may have problems. I think that it may have been created on a Macintosh, at least that is what I am finding on the internet as the reason for it not opening up easily on a PC.

Everyone who sent me a PM should have an email by now. I need your email, sonicfox, so I know where to send the Denon one.
Posted By: nickbuol Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 05:30 AM
Sonicfox, you have email!
Posted By: SirQuack Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 02:28 PM
I've tried a few tricks I know, but still can't get the Axiom decal to open on Photoshop 6.0.

I'm curious, I noticed in the "Save As" file type drop down options in 6.0, there are a few choices for EPS: Adobe EPS, Adobe DCS 1.0(EPS), Adobe DCS 2.0(EPS)...

Nick, Not sure what the differance is, maybe compression, but I was wondering if in your 7.0 "Save As" options if there would be something to save it in a Adobe 6.0 format? I emailed Axiom, to see what they have..if you figure it out, my email is dkmaiowa@wmconnect.com

thanks, Randy

Any chance of someone posting links to jpg's or bmp's of the Axiom and Denon logo's?
Posted By: SirQuack Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 04:15 PM
I don't have a website up and running yet for my home theatre, with links. If you want to PM me your email address, I can send you what I have so far...
Posted By: nickbuol Re: Axiom decal/cling for vehicles? - 12/05/04 05:28 PM
I'd put links up, but I use my web site for many family photo stuff, and if I put up a series of hi-res logos, I would go over my monthly quota pretty quickly.

PM me with your email and I can sent it to you that way in whatever format you want. Specify dpi and size (inches) too if you want.

Always willing to help out others...

how about some axiom coffee mugs with a anti-standing wave design with a braided cable handle?
