I'm seriously considering the VP150, two M60's, two QS8's and an EP500 for my 5.1 setup (not sure if I want to go 7.1 yet as my receiver only does 5.1). Anyways, I have three walls in my hometheater room, yet no side wall to mount my second QS8. I considered purchasing the stand for the QS8 but wondered if there was a bracket to hang it from the ceiling and where you had purchased said bracket and what your thoughts were on mounting this last QS8 to the ceiling or should I just go with the stand. Thanks for the help!

Also, my local store (Stereo West) sells Paradigm. I went to the Paradigm site and they seem pricey. A friend at work has a Paradigm setup and another friend has an Axiom setup. I really couldn't tell the difference and actually preferred the Axiom setup. Thoughts on Paradigm and why they are so pricey and what they offer? I highly doubt I'd go Paradigm...but just wanted some thoughts.
Froot, welcome. Axiom speakers offer great sound at a fair price. Specifically referring to Paradigm, others have also commented that the Axioms are at least as good as the Paradigm Reference series, but at a significantly lower price, due at least in part to the fact that Axiom sells direct to you and cuts out the middleman.

As to a ceiling mount for QS8s, Randy Porter(sirquack)has made a very neat one which he's shown pictures of here. You might check his posts or if Randy recovers from celebrating his birthday today he may see this and comment.
I'm pretty sure the birthday boy will have a recommendation for you...
d d d d d drum rollllllllll

Anytime I can fill up Ken's temp folder I love it.

Froot welcome, and yes it is my big day, one year away from my mid-life-crisis.

Don't worry, I'm not as think as you drunk I am tonight...

There are many ways to mount the Q's to a ceiling. Some of us have had success using an OmniMount, can't remember which model. I actually went to a Home Improvment store and found some nice, heavy duty, shelf brackets with glossy black covers. Now, since I pre-wired all my speaker wires in the ceiling before drywalling, it was just a matter of attaching the brackets to studs in those locations and hiding the wires under the cover.

And now to fill up Ken's temp drive....

First off, happy birthday and thanks for the replies!

Nice custom mounts for the speakers! I'm not too handy...yet I think I could accomplish something similiar. Does anyone remember the omnimount model number? I'm lazy and would love to just buy one mount as the other one could be mounted to the wall.

I was thinking about getting the omnimount for the center channel speaker to sit on my Sony television was well.

Too bad my basement was already finished. I'm stuck with trying to fish the wires through holes in the ceiling somehow. I currently have white wire running throughout my house sorta-buried under the baseboards. Lame, I know...but I haven't come up with a strategy to run the wires through the ceiling yet. Thoughts? The only holes in the ceiling currently to fish wire through are the lights.
I believe if you do a search you'll find your answer, but I think it is the omnimount 10.0. Not sure it has as much clearance for the top driver as my shelf bracket, but it has worked well for others.
