This is my first post so none of you know me, but ive been lurking these forums for a while. I just ordered my epic 80 500 and wanted to thank you all for being so kind to all the others who have posted questions here. Those threads are the ones that helped me out the most. I glad to see such a good fellowship here and everyone seems helpful. Thanks again i cant wait to get my system. I might post some pics once i get it all set up.
Awesome BobbyD,

Can't wait to hear your results once it is all setup. Nice to get some newbies around here as well.

wow man your theater room rules! Where did you get that stand for the center channel. Im using a DLP TV so i really cant put it on top of the TV and i dont have a place to put my center channel other than the floor.

Also, i bought a 5.1 system and was wondering if 7.1 is really that big of a differnce in sound. My reciever supports it so i might buy a couple more speakers to make it 7.1, is it worth it?
Why thank you Bobby.

I find 7.1 quite effective if you have a good processor/reciever that does a good job of converting 5.1 material into 7.1. Logic7 of the HK or Lexicon line does a great job, but there are others as well. I think the improvement over 5.1 is subjective. If you have a larger room it helps, especially if you have more than one row of seating.

The center stand is made by Sanus and was ordered at Crutchfield online. I'm very happy with it- and recommend it highly.

Here is a link to the stands available at Crutchfield:

I went through the same thing you did BobbyD. I read the Axiom boards for a good 18 months before making my decision. And like you, it was all the information gained from the boards that influenced my final decision. I hope you like your system as much as I do mine!

TrueFX
It should make it here sometime this week. The bad thing is though, is that im moving in a couple weeks so im going to keep everything boxed up until after the move. Its going to drive me crazy not being about to hear it for that long.

I bought the Denon 3806 you think that will work well if i decide to go 7.1 in the future?
Congrats on your purchase, the 3806 should be great for driving your 80's as well as for a future 7.1 setup.
