Well I finally got my Axiom speakers in. And man are they Beautiful! Only took three days to go from Canada, all the Way to Alaska! Images are not inlined due to size.

The Boxes are freaking Huuuge:

Here is the center channel, the VP100 very smooth sounding and very shiny:

The M50 Towers arrived double boxed with no marks at all on them:

Here is a pic of the hardware they came with. You can choose to use the rubber feet if you are on wood floors, or the metal spikes if you are on carpet. Since I am on carpet I decided to go with the spikes, and you can hear the spikes pop through the carpet when you set them down:

And then the actual M50 itself. As you can tell very very shiny and boy do they sound nice:

And then here is all three speakers with the new tv. We are totally digging the new speakers with the tv. I don't think I have ever seen so many movies in 72 hours. Very enjoyable.

Very nice RC, I wish Axiom offered these cool options back when I bought my 7.1 gear. Oh well, the sound is the same.
Mmmmm.... Shiny speaker porn. Congrats! They are gorgeous.
I do need something to raise the TV above the center channel however. It is large enough to cause major issues with controlling the Westinghouse.

I thought about using cinderblocks on some cloth (to protect the glass) to raise it up. Is there any better ideas?
Congrats on the new speakers. They look awesome. Glad you like the M50s, too.
Beautiful finish to go along with beautiful sound, RC. Enjoy.

What "control issues" are you experiencing?
The center channel is blocking the IR port of the tv. So the control issue is that I do not have any control at all unless I stand up.
Awesome setups man. Now I'm even more anxious to get mine . I like the last pic where the right side of the VP100 is so shiny that the reflection makes it look like it's not even there. It took about 3 glances before my brain finally accepted that there actually is a speaker there :P. How's everything sound?

Oh, and how long did it take after you ordered before they got to your house? I've been asking people about that, but few have been getting the HG Cherry, which I hear is a lot longer wait then the 4 regular finishes.

Thanks for the pics. Enjoy.
About three weeks of waiting before they shipped. And then only three days until they got to Alaska. Crazy fast shipping.
I had to turn the monitor so my vinyl M50s couldn't see the pics.

.....I haven't told them of the existence of real wood yet.

Beautiful!!
Rich.
WOW! They are beautiful! And glossy!

How high do you need to raise the TV to expose the IR sensor? And, what are the dimensions of the base of the Westinghouse? My first thought was one of the Sanus TV Turntables (one of the two at the bottom of the page) but they only raise the TV 1". I suspect that wouldn't be enough. They probably are too small for the base of your TV, anyway.

The TV27 Black or TV32 Black model might be big enough for the base of your TV, but would still only raise the TV 1" and 1.25" respectively.
VERY nice pictures! Beautiful setup!

If it were me, I'd just rearrange the EC content a bit and put the VP100 on one of the shelves, angled up slightly. It *might* not sound the same, but could present a free and elegant solution.

About 4 inches or so. And the base is 28-5/16"H x 8-7/8"D on stand according to crutchfield.

I have thought of that, but I was informed that it would be best to keep the center channel around the same height as the towers. But if that is what it comes down do that is what I will do.

I would like to raise the tv however.
You can always get an IR repeater. The little tape on bits are only about 1/4 inch tall.

They have those? I shall start searching!
Oh yeah. I even got one that was ethernet controlled for work. Cool stuff. A bit of a pain to program, and def. overkill for you, but there are plain jane repeaters as well.
Hey RawCode,

How do you like the VP100 matched with the M50's? I'm currently planning my center channel swap (from a Paradigm CC-370), and I'm not sure if I want to go VP100 or VP150.
It is seemless when sounds pan from left to right. Vocal clarity is great too. I like it alot. Never heard a vp150 however, but I am happy with this. I bet the VP150 will go alot louder if you need it too.
Congrats! That finish looks awesome!
Pretty speakers indeed! Glad to see another Axiom owner happy with his purchase

Now out of curiosity would this be the same RawCode over at Ars Technica? If so, Hey , if not, disregard the insanity.

Now all you need is to get yourself a couple microfiber cloths to keep em shiney. I dont even touch mine, to prevent fingerprints.

But im just kind of anal about that kind of stuff.

Already got them too. Great for keeping stuff nice and clean.
Very Nice Rawcode!

Good Listening!

They are indeed beautiful, I wish this was available 3 years ago.
I think there's a fair amount of Arsians over here. SemiOn used to post here as well, until... well, let's not get into that unpleasantness.

Ah I found his old posts with a little work, and yeah that is him alright. But then again alot of us over at Ars argue like that, we are crazy sometimes. Sometimes we are so focused on facts and knowledge that we forget subtlety.

Versa over at Ars used some blocks to lift his 120lb HDTV much like my idea, and it worked well. So I might go by Home Depot today so see what I can scrounge up that looks somewhat nice.

I think Saint on here is Saint on Ars too?

I'm Comp Guru btw way, ars is the only place I use that nick, if you see this one anywhere else, it's most likely me.

Also the axioms are lovely and quite loud, louder then I really need them to go that's for sure.

As for the TV, bricks could work, you could even drape a cloth over them (measured of course so it looks cool) and work it like that, or paint them a thick black?
